    I always think that the second o is a u when trying to pronounce it since it has the syllable “oppur”

    English is very well known as being a weird language in terms of spelling. Guess how you prounounce this word: Ghoti. Its actually pronounced fish. Gh from rough. O from Women. And ti from Nation.
