    Either an anime that you'd want them to watch so they can start appreciating anime, or an anime that transcends the media, and would be attractive to people who normally wouldn't be interested in the genre at all?

    Anything Studio Ghibli would be my pick. Except maybe that fish one. Ponyo sucked.
