So vote kicking peeps might be really helpful if we want to get rid of a mic slammer or a hacker and the kick/ban shouldn't be long at all, maybe a few minutes as a minimum. Would love to hear all of your opinions.

The amount this would be abused would be insane, especially with how often people like to bandwagon.

It would be an uphill battle. Cut off one head and two more rise up to take its place. Plus we would have to devise a protocol for this, and we would have to define what constitutes as abuse. Then we get into the murky territory of what the mod's perspective is and what the player's perspective is. Imagine for a second that some dude is harassing a bunch of people, but the moderator doesn't notice it (could be covert or the mod could just be dumb idk) and you start a vote kick. The person gets removed, but what if the moderator removes the permission from you because they didn't see the harassment? What if they want to follow the harassment protocol but you start a vote kick? Could we remove it from you because you were trying to interfere with a moderator's job? We would have to get into the nitty gritty of where and when the removal process should be considered.
I don't know why people are comparing this to PT mods. PT mods were real moderators that could do all the same stuff as moderators, what you are suggesting is people who apply for the ability to start a votekick. On the surface this sounds like a good idea until you realize that we would need to build an infrastructure to be able to implement this. A new subsection of the applications forum, a new rank to be applied on the forums, and we would need to be able to monitor and keep track of who has that permission. Who handles a case if they are caught abusing it? Are they technically considered staff? If we specifically give them this permission we give them a position of power that could potentially look very bad on us if that person abuses the power.

Yet, the simplest problem here is that vote kicking is so easily abusable by people who just want to troll anyways, and your suggestions to fix that problem are laughably complicated and require a lot of work. I wouldn't mind it if it was work that would help us remove trolls, but if it is only for a few minutes than what is the point? Why not just report on the forums or wait for a moderator?

    This will not be implemented.
