The idea I stand by is only people with unenchanted armor can attack people. It retains all the aspects of PVP that people enjoy, while balancing it in a way that people who don't like PVP can compete with, since they would have enchantments on their armor. There would still be the risk, bandits would still be possible, but the bandits wouldn't be able to steamroll people with end-game gear. They would actually have risk to themselves.

Another idea is a placeable block that keeps people from getting combat tagged within a certain area, while disabling damage from other players before combat tagging. People cannot place blocks in combat if I remember correctly, and this would give people both safe spaces as well as something they couldn't exploit.

Doesn't fix the problem you are quoting with groups steamrolling, they just need a designated bait and switch to prime all the targets and initiate combat, with the enchanted tanks coming in to clean up after him.

Everyone seems to want the safety of the 'homefield' advantage without the work; You can easily build up defenses and create it yourself. One thing that would make this philosphy easier would to be disabling the teleporting side effect of chorus fruit, as its only practicality breaks the rules:

Everything else should be fair game.

Man, enchanted armor barely had meaning against mobs and now when they have all the meaning in the world to be used it's like...

well, at least we exist to look sexy?

    EDIT: Btw where's the list.

Then make it so each combat tag is individual. PVP as it stands now is incredibly unbalanced, it's just how the enchantments work. Sitting in your home all day is the worst way to play minecraft, or any game really. We're already doing that RL.

Only the owner and trusted members of the claim should be able to get protection from PVP.
    Imagine this:
    -you are hunting down someone
-he runs into literally anyones claim and refuses to get out

A actually completely agree here. Remove Chorus Fruit from the game and add Popped Chorus Fruit to the ender dragon. That should remove the problem of people teleporting into other peoples homes unless by glitches and other means.

All arguments aside, why not just turn it off in claims.

    I agree with this thread.

I'm telling you, if Spawn Safety is possible, make people invulnerable for 10 minutes after being slain by a player while in their claim. If they attack during this 10 minutes, they become vulnerable.

That still doesn't solve the innate PVP inbalance. Every casual player would be afraid to go outside because they would always risk an ambush, losing their levels, items, and progress, and there it is literally impossible for the majority of them to fight back when the bandits would have such high-end gear.

PVP is still a fun part of gameplay, especially in survival modes. If there is nothing we can do to make PVP more balanced, then I'm all for turning it off in claims.

You can't balance pvp in claims.

I personally don't care about PVP being in claims as much as PVP being inherently unbalanced, and that adding PVP to claims removed that last advantage casual players had in their own claim. Enchantments in minecraft can make a person practically invincible to anyone that doesn't have god-gear as well.

Again, 1.9 balanced out combat. While enchantments are great to have potions and arrows are now more powerful and can easily kill people with enchanted armor. Pvp shouldn't be allowed in claims but should be allowed in the wilderness.

It might have made PVP more balanced, but it didn't fix it by far. You will never beat someone with god-gear while having normal equipment unless you either catch them by surprise, or something extreme happens

There's a lot more to combat than brute strength and enchantments lol

True Yatty. But when 3 guys in end game armor/weaponry show up and attack you suddenly, best of luck picking even one of them off before they start camping you. This is strange for me, as I agree with varying points in these posts and some of them conflict. I'm not against PvP being in the game, or even knowing the risks when I leave my claim. I think that's a part of the excitement of going out in to the world - knowing you could die from anywhere at any time.

Players like @DieKasta will stalk you, wait for you to leave your claim and attack you - he's playing like it should be, far as I'm concerned. While I'm on my claim working on a project, I shouldn't have to be stuffing my best construction items in to an ender chest prior to me walking out in to the open inside my own walls. If I take them with me out in to the world and they get snatched, you won't hear a complaint out of me, but dying in my own storage room six times, having my claim somehow disappear only to be reclaimed by another player I won't mention, really showed me just how absurdly bad an idea this change was. I PvP in plenty of other games I play, Minecraft isn't one of those things.

Just my two or four cents, take it for what you will. Also, +1 remove chorus fruit.

What if, instead of disabling PVP in claims, after death, the person who died has a 15 minute PVP cooldown, or until they attack someone. This way, it allows for people to acquire their heads, but also stops them from spawn camping.

When facing players like these, the only solution for real is to man the fuck up, wear your enchanted dia armor and shove the diamond axe up their asses.
Seriously, combat is much deeper now, movement and timing can sometimes overpower good gear.
