TOM WHEELER CLASSIFIES BROADBAND AS A UTILITY! Today the FCC had taken a vote upon whether or not the internet is a public utility or not under title 2. The result of this was 3-2 aye-nay ratio. The 2 that went nay were republicans warning of too much. The free market past under purely free rule turns oftentimes into a monopoly. Prime example is the oil industry. It once had control of 95% of the market under one rule. The government had to intervene and split it up into 10 separate companies. Now we finally started the true war for a safer, more unified internet! Let this battle mark the day the consumer starts to win.
