Imagine being the superior species but you lose to some lesser species because you had no use for dirty tactics like ranged spears
Ahmmm yes because the english forces support USA armies cause we support them when they were at war vs English forces. We'd been attacked by the frenchs forces so we'd to defend our country.
Humanity sprang up from Apes, and were mostly hunter gatherers until they developed the ability to farm. This meant they could stay in one place, and civilizations started to spring up. These early civilizations were primitive in technology, but began to develop a complex system of organization that we still see in our societies today. Empires began to form, and they would periodically rise and fall. The fall of the roman empire, for example, lead to a bunch of "barbarians" to settle their respective kingdoms. After some time, the idea of the modern day nation state was formulated, and countries began to conduct themselves according to the rules of said nation states. These nation states would go to war over territories and trade deals, while exploiting the plant genetic resources of colonies that had been settled in far away lands. Many countries were still dictated by one person, the king or the queen, but with the enlightenment the ideas of monarchy were slowly but surely eroded away to bring in new ideologies, such as democracy. After awhile, these countries also gave up Mercantilism, which was a realist perspective on economy that directly measured the size of a countries penis to that of the amount of actual stuff it had. Capitalism rose with the publishing of Adam Smith's book "The Wealth Of Nations" It was about this time that the industrial revolution started, which basically allowed for more stuff to be made faster and cheaper. It also formed the bedrock for globalization. The worse aspects of the industrial revolution culminated in a book written by Karl Marx and Fredric Engels, which essentially decried capitalism and advocated for a different system, socialism. Meanwhile, the countries were kind of locked in a cold war of sorts, where every country was forming alliances and arming up like crazy. Eventually some nationalist fervor in the balkans started a conflict between the allies and the central powers, which more or less ended in the total destruction of the Ottomon Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Germany also got destroyed, and the weakened state of the country allowed for it to eventually be lead by Adolf Hitler, a fascist who sought to cleanse the world of Jews, and create more living space for what he considered to be the "master race" Furthermore, Russia has been transformed into the Soviet Union, which would become one of the worlds leading super powers, while also being a totalitarian dictatorship. Furthermore, the world fought a second war because Hitler started invading people. After world war two, the two leading superpowers began to fight each other in proxy wars. The USA and the Soviet Union were locked in a battle of spying, proxy wars, and space races. This took place until about the 90's when the Soviet Union was essentially dissolved. This caused a lot of turmoil in the Balkans, and several wars were fought over land. From here, the world geared up to fight a new enemy, that of terrorism, which showed its teeth on September 11th, 2001. Since then, however, globalization and climate change has continued to change the landscape of our world. We struggle to find peace in an era that is plagued with vague security threats, loss of jobs, and ever increasing global climate change. (sorry i didn't wanna be too US centric, but I also didn't cover a lot of middle eastern history or Asian history. Mostly because I wanted to keep this concise, and I know little about Asian histroy )
