Today I noticed that placing a C4 itself isn't a KOSable act but because it's a T weapon it is? Can some clarification be given so it's not such a gray area Personally I say make placing a C4 as a T act but considered a toxic kill if you are giving a C4 with DNA on it to a Detective or someone with a DNA scanner
c4 can be confused w/ a jihad, they both have the same skin whether you use CSS Textures or the CSGO Skins made for SGM. Either way planting/arming/holding a c4 is a T act, but passing a c4 isn't so I'm not sure what you're asking. If someone tells the Det he has DNA on this C4, and plants it for him to get the DNA, and the Det kills him, it's a toxic kill. Best to tell the det in both text chat and mic chat. But it's relatively known that giving a det a c4 for DNA is not something to kill for.
Today @Roy gave me a slay because I killed Racerboy for placing a C4, apparently Roy decided to remove the slay because a C4 is a T weapon. So it's pretty gray
It's not gray, he wasn't given definitive advice on how to handle the situation when he asked. Thus he was confused at the moment.
I mean if you see him plant a c4 in front of a detective, it's pretty clear that he's giving the c4 to the detective. Again it's a toxic kill, if you see someone planting a c4 somewhere else or lucrative, then sure. But placing a c4 in front of an active detective would be clear that the player planting it is giving the Det a way to get DNA on the T. Especially if they announced their intention
I mean, passing a c4 requires you to hold it.. Anyway, as mentioned already, there's no gray area. Putting down a C4 regardless of one's intention is indeed a t act you can kill for (except for Detectives, who you can only kill for planting a C4). However, it should be pretty obvious when the player placing down the C4 is an innocent. I would compare it with someone throwing a harpoon on the ground or ceiling.
