Terrortrain 2019

  1. Yes, I know I already suggested Terrortrain once before and I would have included this version in my old post too but since you can only edit your "main post" for a certain amount of time (unless you're a staff member), I'll create a new one because the map should deserve more than a comment under an old post.

    Revisit Terrortrain during a pleasant and mild night. The cloudless sky reveals a full moon with parts of the milky way visible.

    So... what has changed since the last time you took the train?

    After your last journey with the "Terrortrain" the Terrorists took their time and added new features inside and outside the Terrortrain (but they also kept the already existing ones):

    ➪ Real World Textures (+Water) by TopHattWaffle & Night Sky by Patriot_[GER] (GameBanana)
    ➪ The map is designed for TTT gameplay but also supports Sandbox (and likely other modes as well)
    ➪ AI Nodes (Ground, Air, Jump and Climb Nodes) for NPCs
    ➪ A navigation mesh for bots
    ➪ Train sound effects (mostly when you play TTT)
    ➪ Optimized map for a good multiplayer experience
    ➪ About 70-80 player spawnpoints
    ➪ LDR and HDR lighting
    ➪ Adjusted environment and lighting (to fit the night setting)
    ➪ Map Name: ttt_terrortrain_2019_b1 (is stored in the "Trouble in Terrorist Town" map section)

    "Map Changes":

    ➪ Added more ropes to the side of the train
    ➪ Different decal placements
    ➪ Further optimizations
    ➪ Added 2 radios with music
    ➪ Improved AI Node navigation and wider navigation meshes for bots
    ➪ Added more spawnpoints for Sandbox gameplay
    ➪ Added a few ambient sounds
    ➪ Doors can now be opened when touched or when +USE is pressed
    ➪ Added more escape ways


    ➪ 3 "Secret Weapons" to find (including Secret Knife)
    ➪ Over 70 player spawnpoints
    ➪ Breakable Traitor Tester
    ➪ 6 Traitor Buttons (5 Traitor Traps with damageowner specified)

    ➪ Games required to play this map: Garry's Mod
    Counter Strike: Source: for some decals and sounds (only minor errors sgould be visible if not installed)
    Counter Strike: Global Offensive is NOT required since the props should be downloaded with the map


    ➪ The bugs and framerate problems the original map had are fixed
    ➪ The map fits well for Sandbox "Saved Games" (Horror, Action, Scenery; Roleplay, Realism, ...)
    ➪ The NPCs and ragdolls in the photos aren't included in the map
    ➪ If you noclip under the train you need "god" enabled (to enable "godmode" you need sv_cheats set to 1)

    ➪ If you should discover any bugs/exploits please write them down in "Discussions" instead of "Comments"
    (other users who may have the same problem won't need to search for a solution in the comments forever)

    This map is super dark. If the lights were brighter i'd be down with the sickness. Didn't seem to have any bugs.

    I would both love to see this and Terrortrain 2018 end up on the server rotation, that way we can have a similar map that takes place during the day while another one takes place at night. +1
  8. It was supposed to be that dark but maybe I can adjust the brightness a little bit. :blackalien:

  11. I personally hated Terrortrain. However it's mostly loved by a majority of the community and therefore would be a good thing to bring back, especially an updated version like this.

    +1 even if "super dark". We have maps in rotation that are darker than this. Amsterville was suggested to be added to rotation and you didn't have a problem with that light level, even tho it's probably the darkest map we have ever had.

    This is great but since Highwons doing nothing with the community until the shutdown in june (I was told) You should reccomend this on AHG
