I was called out while playing. Rice and Chicken found me a minute later and killed me. He then kills the afk T behind me. It was not overtime, nor was it GBA, because I didn't shoot at all, and not killing a KOSed player is not a traitorous act. So I reported him for killing my T buddy for no reason. Response was "Why are you reporting me when you're not Slarty?"

I figure a staff member would be mature enough to realize when they made a mistake and slay themselves accordingly, regardless of who reported them, not like that matters. RDM is RDM.

Mini failed to slay him as well, so here I am.

I killed you because you were called out.

I killed him because he was next to an unid and that is gba.

Thus not RDM. Other staff on the server agreed to it being GBA. So...

There wasn't an unid, unless you're talking about my body? You gave him less than 2 seconds to ID a body you just killed. He wasn't even looking in the direction you killed me.

Sounds like toxic gameplay to me but ok

 

In the report Rice submit, he didn't claim that Slarty was GBA for being near you, he claimed Slarty was GBA for being near an unID body, which is a kosable offense.

In the death scene, it shows an unidentified body in front of Slarty, making him within range of the rule.

However, I don't have the report nor the death scene because I apparently never hit my "start recording" button, so I have my word.

Edit: It would appear that Rice did in fact use your body as a reason to kill Slarty. He was in fact still near an unidentified body, which is a traitorous act, ergo the RDM report against Rice wouldn't be valid. So, I don't personally believe I handled that report improperly at all. That, however, doesn't excuse the toxic behavior Rice executed when he decided to do that.

 

Besides my own, there were no UnIDed bodies to my knowledge in either room

Thanks to Minito, we now have the death scene. So Rice does in fact kill you, then wait before killing Slarty.

While that's toxic, it does fall into the unID body rule. However, it could also fall under common sense seeing as you were KOSed but were about to pass by Slarty as if you've never met that man in your life. That's just my perspective though. Everyone could have a different thought process on it, but when I was handling the report all I saw was Slarty near an unidentified body, which would equate to a traitorous act.

 

Why does the deathscene show that Rice waited over 5 seconds to kill when damagelogs show it was before 3 seconds had passed

Edit: nvm it's in slow motion. In reality, Rice and Chicken kills him pretty much directly after killing me. And again, no UnIDs in the room.

 

I corrected that on my end, my vision was blurred a bit and I mistook the unIDs behind another wall as ones in that room. That was my mistake, and I apologize for that.
However he was still technically near your unID body, albeit it was due to loop holing/common sense.

 

Not the right use of common sense tho. You can't kill a player for not killing someone who is KOSed. That's RDM.

 

I'll let Rice give his two cents on why he believes it could fall under common sense. As far as I'm concerned, my part in this report was handled correctly. Albeit it was a toxic kill, it still fell under the unID body rule.

 

This isn't my report, but your admin seriously needs to talk to you if you think this could be a valid execution of common sense. Players are under no obligation to act upon KOSes and can not be forced into following the KOS. Nor can they be killed for not following it. It can be suspicious, sure, but in no way shape or form is this a valid reason to kill a player. Just kill the entire train of thought, please.

Common sense: No. Not what that is. At all.

GBA: Barely. He was looking the wrong direction, clearly AFK, and you killed him directly after killing me

Toxic: Definitely.

 

Rice and Chicken did not commit any offenses of RDM, and Minimelt is in no position to enforce toxic game play, especially against another moderator. This should have been forwarded to an admin to take care of, and Minimelt's failure to do that reflects poorly on him. I am not sure exactly what is meant by "common sense" here, but let me just clarify: You cannot kill someone for refusing to follow a KOS.

I will have a conversation with Rice and Chicken about Toxic game play and he will serve a slay in game. Espurr will speak to Minimelt privately about ways that this could have been handled this better.
