    Heya,

When I was lead I started a policy within the staff team that required all staff to upload evidence for every hacking ban issued due to the high rates of false bans on shaky evidence. This was both reviewed by leads+ and through peer review. Has this policy changed?

I ask because I can’t help but notice the increase of accepted appeals for hacking bans due to lack of proper evidence- so it seems like this peer review may not be present anymore if staff keeps messing up these bans.

If this isn’t being implemented anymore, what safeguards are being placed within the staff team to help prevent bad bans and has there been any consideration in modifying this since it doesn’t seem like it is working?

Since I have been mod I have not been forced by anyone to upload evidence of hackers hacking. However, it appears this policy is still somewhat intact. I'll answer this with a partial yes as there still seems to be people who upload their evidence, but I can't say for sure if this is optional or an actual requirement. It may just be enforced really relaxed like. It would be nice to get an official statement on this, and so i'll only answer with a partial yes. Any admin can change this at any time if I said something wrong or dumb. Thanks.

As far as hacking goes we are yet again faced with the same problem we are always faced with: Busting hackers is not an exact science. There are too many variables at play, and you are always going to be woefully unprepared to deal with all those variables. Maybe you see a few snaps and you get jumpy. I agree that this shit should not be happening, and perhaps there is a meaningful discussion to be had about when is the right time to ban and when you should just hold onto your evidence and get em on a different day.

This is a discussion i'm sure we'll have. I hope anyways haha.
