If you haven't seen yet, there was a new line added to the "Warnings to Teammates" section of the extended rules, full rules shown here:

Now, the new line is the last bullet point, which if you somehow can't read says "Note: Kills by explosive T-items such as death stations, a failed C4 disarm, and trip mines are still attributed to the person who planted them. See Special Items/Equipment rules."

My question revolves around the bolded section, "a failed C4 disarm".

It's addressed in the same section that C4's do not need to be warned for generally, as they are visible through walls with a timer and with their distance. Typically, if a T-buddy dies to a C4 I've planted and reports me, I can easily respond that it is their responsibility to be aware of the placement of said C4 and not be in it's area when it explodes. And I won't be slain for it.

However, with this new note, does that mean if an inno fails to disarm my C4 and my T-buddies have yet to leave the area, let's say because they think it'll just explode on the timer, then I'll be slain for it? I just want clarification.

tl;dr: Inno disarms my C4 and fails, making it explode and kill my nearby T-buddies. Am I RDMing and subject to punishment?

If the answer is yes, that should 100% be changed, because how am I supposed to know at all times if someone is trying to disarm my C4?

    No, you are not RDMing.

Its just to clarify that if an innocent fails a C4 defuse, even though they cause the following explosion its not attributed to them. Likewise if an innocent walks into tripwire its not their fault if someone else explodes from the tripwire. It goes together with the point above the note.
