I have nothing against the PointShop as a whole. it's a great feature and i love it. But the Upgrades... are a little unfair. To start off... DNA Decay. the DNA timer is balanced part of TTT. a core mechanic for detectives to find the traitor. when you put something like the DNA Decay PointShop Upgrade in there. you throw off the balance for detectives. just making them an Inno with an even larger target on the back of their head than before. this makes it so that the T can kill someone, run into the next room, and the DNA will decay in 10 seconds rather than its required Minute. the DNA decays as the T gets farther away. so its the Ts job to run, and the Ds job to get there before the timer hits Zero. with the upgrades you put the skill cap for both of these to such a low slandered for Veteran players it's not even funny! and with these upgrades being so expensive it makes the game in favor for players who have been there longer. a TTT equivalent of the level 100 Jerk who stomps on newer players for the fun of it. I'm not gonna just dwell on the DNA Decay though. what about Death Station Healing? ya its nice. but its Expensive. a newer T might see a Vet healing from a Death Station and think "Oh i can heal from that" then one of 2 things happen: one the newbie runs up and detonates Himself, the Vet, and anyone else in range of the blast. or he tries to buy himself a death station and detonates himself. and any Ts or Innos in the Blast Radius as well. and then gets Slain for T on T RDM. then leaves because he thinks the Staff there are Jerks and the game is Broken. now I'm not saying to REMOVE this feature. but maybe make it a little easier to acquire. for the players who do stick around to figure out WTF happened. I'm saying most of this because I'm against Micro-transactions, and any F2P game usually allows players to get the items without Micro Transactions, but it requires so much grinding it probably isn't even worth it. Fun Rounds don't come around too often and you only get 10 Points every few minutes. and those are the only way to get points unless you wanna try your hand at a raffle. if certian core mechanic upgrades were removed and side grades made cheaper i would be happier. but currently the pointshop is really screwing with the balance of the for Ts and Ds.
The fact that several of us have been here for a very long one doesn't mean that you are favored. Also, saying a TTT equivalent of that is a lvl 100 jerk who stomps on new players for the fun of it doesn't make all that much sense either. Being good at something and/or having experience doesn't make you a jerk. Also most of the time you can't even tell if someone is a new player or not. Plenty of times iv seen players iv never seen before who have hundreds of hours clocked in on the sevrers.
People have invested points into all these upgrades that frankly, they are relying on them (DS Heal as an example.) There are better options; You could suggest to nerf them, rather than remove them. That introduces another problem as what would the people who have all the upgrades do? If we remove it (and refund the points,) then these people will just have more points to waste. (This was based off of another post, not saying this is everyone who has all the upgrades.)
They can, anyone can heal from a Death station that someone with the upgrade has dropped afaik. EDIT: THIS IS WRONG ACCORDING TO TURQ SO PLS IGNORE BUT STILL ITS CALLED REWARDING TIME SPENT ON THE SERVERS.
Nope. Every time I've dropped a death station, t-buddies have tried using it and just spammed E and it doesn't work. The only reason you can tell if it's not healing them is if they can spam that stupid healing sound constantly.
The upgrade gives you the power to use any Deathstation to heal rather than giving your Deathstation the power to heal all your Tbros.
Keep in mind you can't buy points - though it is true you can buy a VIP upgrade which makes it easier to get the upgrades (in the form of an upgrade discount). I consider the system balanced as it is. It gives players something to save toward, if it were any easier there would be more players with all the upgrades and without stuff to spend points on, which would mean more players would be giving points away (in the form of giveaways, just random, etc), which would lend to more players getting the upgrades. It's a vicious cycle. If you don't like the upgrades there are other servers besides ours.
that aren't nearly as well staffed or populated, or have as great of a community behind, or enforce RDM properly.
T-buddies don't blow up from trying to use a death station. T-buddies meaning traitor buddies. If you don't understand that then I can't really help you.
Yeah, @Cirtex, traitors who don't have the death station won't blow up if they press E on it. It just doesn't do anything for them. Only innos/detectives cause it to blow up by pressing E on it.
If a T hops on a Deathstation and hits E it makes it sound like they're using a regular health station. Edit: Combine mine and Lone's post.
