    • There is a 5 second grace period after killing and identifying a T where, if killed in this time, the accused player will not be punished for killing the proven player (5 seconds accounts for the confusion there might be).
    • this is how the rule reads. is there a self-defense for this? can the proven person shoot someone coming at him with a Deagle or shotgun? Like a preemptive strike since you are proven and they are holding a deadly one shot weapon at you. if not it seems like an easy way for the traitors to be able to kill someone who just killed their t buddy with no consequences.

If someone is only charging you with a non-traitorous weapon out after you killing a player, no you may not kill them. Although if an innocent traitor-baits or damages you, then you may kill them in self defense. In this scenario you may only kill detectives if they damage you first.

If you see someone kill a player, and walk over to them to ask what happened or to watch them to see if they ID a body, and then they shoot you for having a shotgun, that would seem unfair because you haven't done anything traitorus

I believe the answers you have received don't quite reflect what your understanding of the rule may be. You say that with this rule it is easy for a traitor to kill a proven innocent without any consequences, whereas, the consequences for doing so are inherently the same to killing a player at any other moment during a round. This being that the player is still committing a Traitorous act, and can be killed for doing so. The grace period does not offer a player five seconds of immunity from being harmed for killing the proven innocent because of the confusion, but instead offers five seconds of immunity to innocents and detectives from being slain for accidentally damaging the proven player.
