    Hey SGM,

I got bored over winter break and I let my inner baker out. Thus I've been making mainly breads and today I'm branching out into a desert.

Today, I'm making sopapillas, it's kinda like a doughnut, you usually put something like powdered sugar and honey on it, you can also put chocolate and more!

    http://allrecipes.com/recipe/23047/real-sopapillas/

I used lard instead of shortening.

Well due to other things being on sale at the grocery store, looks like it is gonna be apple pie.

As usual I will post my recipe here once I write it down, and any progress here, and any tips will go in a separate post.

4 cups of cooking apples ( I am using 4-5 Green Granny Smith apples). Mix with 3/4 cup of sugar. 1.5 tsp of Apple pie spice
, 2 tbsp of melted butter and 2 tbsp of water place in pie shell cover with crust.

Bake for 15 mins at 450° F. Reduce temp to 350°F until top is browned.

    Tips for Apple pie

Pie crust: use cheap beans (beans you won't use again) and place it on the crust to keep it from bubbling.

Hey all, today I made rosemary bread, its kinda like the restraunt bread you get.

    Here's the recipe!

Here's a picture of the outcome! (Only 1 loaf cause we ate one.)

A tip is use parchment paper instead of butter just straight on the pan when cooking the bread it will help stop it from burning on the bottom.

I also reccomend looking at the bread every five minutes to make sure it doesn't burn at all.

Sorry for posting late kinda forgot about taking photos and etc.

How long have you been actually cooking?

I cook a lot, and I just mix stuff together "anyone can cook style"

    Maybe you should try it.....

For instance I wanted breakfast. So I got some meat thinking I was gonna make a burrito, and I got some American Cheese, then cooked the raw beef, then got one egg, mixed it with milk, and scrambled it. Put the meat on the burrito bread, then cheese and melted it, put egg on the cheese and topped it with another slice of cheese. I put Worcestershire sauce in the egg and the meat. Then it came to the part where you are supposed to roll up the burrito, but I couldn't because it was too fat. So I got creative and folded it in a way that made it look like a pot pie.

So I present to you a breakfast pot pie.

I've been helping cook/cooking since I can remember, I just decided since I started baking a ton why not make a thread, eventually I will probably make this a culinary thread, I've just been focusing on baking. Tomorrow I'll see what my family is planning to make and I'll do the post on that

I'm curious to see if you have any family recipes that you just know from your head. I've got several. Of course all of the food I know how to make is weird old style southern meals.

    Good luck!

Of course! Some are pretty simple, the rest involve a lot of eyeballing certain amounts of spices and such to taste, and they are all make large amounts cause I am child in a 7 person family. I can start simple and get more and more complicated or jump all around, we will have some fun!
