This SSD is the whipped cream and cherry on top of your new PC.

talk to me like a dummy w/ that pic

    aside from that

I get the luxury and benefit of having the SSD, but if the best thing it can do is increase boot time for the computer Im a patient man and can let that be

    and just use sleep mode

because I do use sleep mode a lot with my current laptop

Nah, everything you do will be way faster. imagine playing fallout 4 and everything loads in 2 seconds. everything installs as quick as your CPU can process things, instead of the HDD taking a while reading and writing data.

But basically i have the 512gb version of the SSD on your list. If I booted off a standard 1tb HDD, it'd be 80% slower.

Ok, so I've gone over everything with a fine-tooth comb with my father who knows his way around a computer but doesnt know about modern tech.

From your two lists @PanzerShrimp we've decided to go with this set-up

    http://pcpartpicker.com/list/2zfkgL

From your picture of the "fast" computer

    The chassis is the Rosewill

ssd: Kingston digital, though we're considering this

    Memory: HyperX fury

I'd like to know your thoughts Panzer.

Im going to be looking at a promising monitor set-up for anyone who is knowledgeable to that.

By the way, I was recommended this mouse and keyboard set-up

    Keyboard: http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/product/g213-rgb-gaming-keyboard

    Mouse: http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/product/g402-hyperion-fury-fps-gaming-mouse

I was told that the keyboard and mouse here are primarily different than standard ones because they have USB instead of the circular input. Also because they can perform macros and the keyboard lights up.

Now, here's the thing. I dont need to pay 60 dollars for a mouse and 70 for a keyboard for it to be able to perform macros. That sounds to me that any standard USB mouse will be fine compared to this G402. Honestly, I'm tickled by the lights on the keyboard and if there's a keyboard like the one i listed and doesnt overprice itself for macros I'll listen to what ya got.

    Fuck a 3 foot mousepad.

    10/10.

The 960 is well worth it though. If not that the 950 will probably drop in price and that's still a really fast sdd

I was browsing on battlestations thread yesterday and this seems pretty neat for me.

    Great idea, thanks!

Idea being: Main monitor larger than your secondary. Perfect!

The end result of all the months of planning and a whole 24 hours of installation at the price of ~1600$.

It lights up like christmas tree, airflow is on point, silent, and plays anything with absolute ease. And to any of your people wondering: Well, that's nice. How are you going to do work w/o Office? I've got a student email, and downloaded office 100% free.

    g fucking g

Thanks to especially @Prancer for suggesting ~90% of this build.

Enable XMP 2.0 in your bios, and select your RAM speed to get your memory's full potential.

Did you buy DDR4-2133? If not, you still need to enable XMP 2.0
