my man really made most of his songs about prison, being on the run, or death row, sang is prisons and became known for being a badass. But he really just never went to prison and died of diabetes. How do you have a voice like that, sing songs like that, build yourself up to be a prisoner hero, and then live a life like that.
mhmm... well he had been to jail, and although he never went to prison, he often performed at prisons for free for the prisoners, and sympathized with the prisoners wholeheartedly. But Johnny Cash didn't have a soft life. He grew up poor. His brother died in a sawmill accident when JC was 12. he struggled with addiction all through the early 60s w/ his tours & the divorced his first wife in 66 & almost died in george from drugs after that. dude went off the deep end. he was arrested for smuggling, and starting a forest fire at different points. got clean in 68 and stayed clean throughout the seventies thanks to the birth of his first kid w/ his 2nd wife but got addicted to again in the early 80s and checked into rehab 88. then he made even more fucking amazing records. but his health was fucked. dude's amazing. i have written lots and read even more on JC.
