    1. RANDOM DEATHMATCH (RDM)

    1. Damaging or causing damage to another player by any means without a valid reason, even if they allowed you to.

    YOU CAN KILL/CAUSE DAMAGE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

    - Traitorous acts.
    - Guilt by Association.
    - Someone shooting towards you (regardless of role).
    - DNA that YOU collected from an innocent or detective.

    - Detective arming C4.
    YOU CANNOT KILL/CAUSE DAMAGE FOR THE FOLLOWING:
    - Suspicion
    - Being near a traitor item.
    - Refusing to test.
    - Someone enters a "Claimed" area.

    - Someone is with a KOSed player.
    - You think someone activated an invisible traitor button.

    - Being near an armed C4 or not calling one out.
    IF YOU LEAVE BEFORE SERVING A FULL ROUND SLAY, YOU WILL BE BANNED FOR RDM AND LEAVE

    YOU MAY LEAVE WITH A PENDING REPORT IF THERE IS NO STAFF ONLINE. IF FOUND VALID, A SLAY WILL BE APPLIED TO YOUR STEAM ID.
    2. SPAM / HARASSMENT / EXCESSIVE FALSE REPORTING
    1. Irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet.
    2. Aggressive pressure or intimidation.
    3. Simply "feeling offended" does not guarantee punishment.
    4. Racial or group-based slurs are NEVER allowed due to their usually harmful context.
    5. Targeting or stalking a player may also be considered harassment.
    6. Using props to cause disruption can be punished under harassment.
    3. GHOSTING
    1. Providing current-round-related, game-influencing information to a player, or players, through means of communications other than world or team chat.

    4. CHEATING, HACKING, and MACRO USE

    1. Macros or addons that give a significant unfair advantage to gameplay and are indistinguishable from hacking or other forms of cheating.
    5. BAN EVASION
    1. PUNISHMENT: Admin or higher tier staff discretion.
    6. PORN/GORE/DISTURBING CONTENT
    1. Arousing images/videos depicting sexual activity, general nudity, sex toys/objects, or sexual substances.
    2. Blood, cut body parts, people/creatures being injured, bodies/corpses, and similar things.
    3. Content that is graphic, disgusting, or unsettling.
    7. CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
    1. PERMANENT BAN. Non-negotiable and non-appealable.
    2. AGAINST FEDERAL LAW. Information can be given to authorities.
    8. UNREADABLE/CONFUSING NICKNAMES
    1. Names meant to cause confusion when called out.
    9. TOXIC GAMEPLAY and ROLE-BREAKING/GAME THROWING
    1. Playing the game how it's not meant to be played; ruining the fairness and enjoyment.
    2. Playing the game in a malicious or unfair way.
    3. Helping the enemy team win the game (Metagaming).

    4. Loopholing our rules.
    5. PUNISHMENT: Admin or higher tier discretion.

    * Enforcement of other rules will take priority. *
    10. MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
    1. It is against the rules to play on SGM servers with multiple accounts/aliases; pointfarming or simultaneous play.
    2. It is against the rules to play on SGM server(s) when another account owned is banned on that server(s). (Ban Evasion)

    COMMONLY ENCOUNTERED GAMEPLAY RULES
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    1. KILL ON SIGHT (KOS)
    1. Calling a player out as a Traitor.
    2. Responsibility of the damage done to a KOS'd player is on the player who called the KOS.
    3. Do not follow a called off KOS.
    4. Repeating a KOS may deem you as the original source.
    5. You may not attack a
    Detective for calling a KOS; they must be shooting at you.
    6. KOS/KO5/KOZ are valid KOSes.

    NOTE:
    1. VALID KOS: Explicitly expresses that a player is a traitor or they should be killed in a single text or voice transmission. Partial names can be used as a valid KOS (Mango vs MangoTango).
    2. SELF-KOS: KOS against yourself is valid and you can be killed for it. Can be punished under admin discretion if excessive.
    3.
    SELF-IMPLICATION: Saying something about yourself that implies you're a traitor. Considered a valid KOS if done in present tense. Can be punished under admin discretion if excessive.
    4.
    LAST WORDS: Can be acted on if called as a valid KOS.

    2. CROSSFIRE

    1. A situation where a player accidentally causes damage or damages another player while trying to damage someone/something else with a valid reason.
    2. Not considered RDM.
    3. Does NOT apply to props.

    3. GRACE PERIOD

    1. 5-second period when you can be killed after killing a Traitor AND identifying the body.
    2. Kills after the Grace Period will be considered RDM unless you commit a traitorous act.

    4. WARNING TEAMMATES

    1. Warning if you're about to use an item, usually explosive or traps, that may cause damage to them.
    2. Must be timely and precise to be
    sufficient; allowing them to clear the area damage may occur.
    3. Considered RDM if
    not sufficient and results in damage to teammates.
    4. Not needed for C4, Deathstation, Tripwire if it is not anticipated to be triggered immediately.
    5. A useful rule of thumb for timing is giving at least five seconds before warning and initiating action.

    5. AFK PLAYERS

    1. Not immune to traitorous acts.
    2. You cannot kill AFK Detectives.
    6. GUILT BY ASSOCIATION (GBA)
    1. A player is GBA if they are found to be witnessing or able to witness another player commit a traitorous act and not attempting to take action against said players by calling them out or attacking them, as long as the situation gives them a reasonable opportunity to react.
    2. The victim of a traitorous act cannot be considered GBA.
    7. COMMON SENSE
    1. When a certain situation allows you to, undoubtedly and above suspicion, prove that a player is a traitor.

    8. CAMPING AND DELAYING

    1. Staying in a closed off space waiting for someone to come attack you.
    2. Postponing an effort to fulfill an objective.

    3. PUNISHMENT: Mid-round slay.

    9. FORGIVENESS

    1. Players have the ability to forgive each other.
    2. RDM chains and Mass RDM cannot be forgiven.
    3. Staff reserve the right to deny forgiveness.

    10. UNREPORTED DAMAGE

    1. Staff will investigate if requested to do so by the damaged player.
    2. RDM chains and Mass RDM must be reported.
    3. Abusing this rule may result in staff investigation and punishment.

    PROPS: Physical objects in the game world that can be interacted with;
    furniture, map decorations, plants, rocks and more.
    Ragdolls (bodies of dead players) are also considered props.

    1. ATTACKING WITH PROPS
    1. Damaging players with props.
    2. Allowed with valid reason.

    3. Cannot be considered under crossfire.
    2. PROP PUSHING/BLOCKING/THROWING
    1. Using a prop to push or block another player without causing them damage.
    2. Throwing a props by any means.
    3. Allowed.
    4. Considered traitorous if there's potential to cause damage.
    3. CARRYING EXPLOSIVE PROPS
    1. Traitorous if carried towards players.
    2. Includes carrying T-trap items.
    3. Carrier can be slain if prop is shot in crossfire in attempt to shoot carrier.
    4. Shooter can be slain if the prop is shot on purpose.
    4. PROP-SURFING
    1. Using props to accesses areas that cannot be accessed without the use of prop-surfing.
    2. PUNISHMENT: Teleport + Warn (Slays can be applied if continued).

    1. Tasers: If a Detective tases you, you cannot kill them when you get up unless they repeatedly tase you or shoot (at) you.
    2. NOT IDENTIFYING BODIES
    1. Not actively trying to ID a body.
    2. Player must be able to see the body.
    3. Player must be able to ID the body without taking damage.

    NOTE: Point #3 does not apply to the danger of gunfire or other potential damage, unless shots are active, near the body and present a valid danger.
    3. THROWING FRAG GRENADES, DISCOMBOBULATORS, OR INCENDIARY GRENADES
    1. Includes cooking a grenade in your hand. (D)
    4. DAMAGING or CAUSING DAMAGE TO INNOCENTS/DETECTIVES
    1. Damage caused by any means.
    5. DAMAGING TRAITOR TESTERS or HEALTH STATIONS
    1. Rendering or attempting to render a tester or health station useless.

    9. HIDING TRAITOR EQUIPMENT

    1. Includes entering and exiting.
    2. Holding/blocking open traitor room door.
    11. BLOCKING/PUSHING ANOTHER PLAYER IN IMMEDIATE DANGER
    1. Blocking them, by any means, somewhere they may take damage. (D)
    2. Pushing them, by any means, somewhere they may take damage. (D)

    3. For a jump block to be traitorous the jumper must be mid-jump when the blocker moves in to block the only possible landing.

    1. Breaking bridges while someone is on them is Traitorous.
    2. Carrying the axe is Traitorous.

    1. Carrying claymores is Traitorous.

    1. STAFF DISCRETION
    1. Privilege allowing staff to give punishments different from what is stated in the General and Extended Rules.
    2. Reserved for special circumstances.
    3. Moderators can exercise discretion for forgiveness if their admin grants them the ability.

    2. KARMA BANS

    1. One hour ban administered by the server CONSOLE.
    2. Prevents Mass RDM when no staff are online.
    3. Excessive karma bans may result in further punishment.

    3. PERMANENT BANS

    1. Globalized across ALL SGM services (Forums, Game Servers, and Discord).
    2. Appeals must go through a Lead Admin or Server Owner.

    4. WORD VS WORD

    1. When a clear verdict, beyond reasonable doubt, cannot be decided upon based off of any pertinent information surrounding a report.

    5. RDM REPORTS

    1. Be clear when responding to or creating a RDM report.
    2. Provide any information that may be necessary to the validity of your report (i.e. traitorous acts).
    3. Troll reports/responses can not be investigated by staff.
