I have absolutely no idea what this has to do with the post you just quoted. All I did was ask some question about how they would be trained, just like you did, and now you are telling me that it's unfair that you have to pay for that. Are you quoting the wrong guy? I didn't even give any opinion about who should spend the money.

I have nothing but anecdote to back this up, but the few trans people I've met that did actually transition still had problems with their self-esteem and body image. They weren't <opposite gender> enough and remained unhappy with their body and features, since many transgender people have issues 'passing' as the gender they feel like. And even if they pass, they can be hypercritical of small things that literally nobody would care about, if they even notice it in the first place. But it still clashes with their own ideal self.
I've also seen and talked to some who felt way better after transitioning and were far more happy about themselves.

Point being that transitioning isn't in itself a cure. It can help (a lot), but it takes a lot of work to reach a happy place even after surgery and hormone replacement therapy and all that jazz.

you mentioned them taking hormones for their transition, which they need to take, which would need to be provided and paid for by the military / taxpayers. It's money that would be better going elsewhere

I know I'm supposed to be civil, but I cannot imagine the world you live in. Of course public figures get backlash for saying horrendous shit; that has nothing to do with the way that trans people are treated on a daily basis by people with no visibility. Trans people are killed, turned away at shelters, abused and abandoned by their family, and ostracized by their communities. There is a legitimate fear that you might meet the wrong person and they'll beat the shit out of you on a daily basis.

Just because people come to the defense of trans ppl when Johnnie Fuckface the bigtime celeb says some dumb shit doesn't mean that there will always be those people to come to their defense when run-of-the-mill bigots give us a hard time in public. The internet is not a representative sample of all living people, and there are a lot more dangerous people out there than people who will jump to our defense. You don't know the first fucking thing about how trans people live, and the idea that they're "the most privileged group in America" is straight up delusional, dawg.

The United States military once spent a minimum of $3.5 billion on a useless naval ship whose gun system does not work, cannot be fixed, and will not be replaced. That ship could have paid for the medical costs of every trans person in the military 416 times over. And again, as per this article, the US Military spends more money on Viagra by a significant quantity than it ever would on trans people.

If you want to start targeting wasteful military spending, you would be better served looking literally anywhere else.

Now yes, you're right in that trans are severely prosecuted in other countries.

After some research and unfortunately having to use some old numbers, (number of trans people in America in 2016, 1.4 million) the murder rate of trans people being victims is 1.8 per 100000.(with 26 murders being the highest reported as trans people in 2018)
To put that in respective, 12.2 woman per 100000 are killed.

Now please dont say "well there are less trans people/there are more women" because this is per 100000, not the total population.

This means that transitioning lowers your chance of being murdered, statistically, in the U.S.

So to be honest, your statement overexagerates the situation in the U.S. and I cannot only blame you, but we can blame media, and trans media over exaggerating the numbers.

Now dont go at me for verbal harassment, as I believe people in general these days have lost sight of the real definition of verbal harassment. So let's agree to not talk on this cause it has become unfactual.(like legit, if you disagree, based on what you say, I can report it for harassment, not fun.)

I'll have to say a bit more later, but I need some time and I've already spent a good amount of time researching and finding the right words.

You realize that the argument of there being less trans people still applies even when you narrow that down, right? They are still a lower percentage of that 100,000 than women, that argument doesn't make any sense.

Moreover, murders are not the most significant reflective statistic of the way trans people are treated in America. I am a trans person, I know many trans people, I have heard many horror stories and I have seen many horror stories. The vast majority of abuse directed at trans people cannot be criminally recorded (because it is emotional abuse delivered by parental figures or guardians, peers in school, or in the workplace) and to rely solely on murder statistics to reflect persecution of trans people is nuts.

Again, you, and anyone who says that trans people are "privileged" in America, are straight delusional and you are deliberately seeking out statistics to prove an insane conclusion. There are no statistics that can accurately reflect the abuse that trans people face. I don't want to hear you or anyone else that is not trans speaking about the way you think trans people are treated because you don't know anything about our experiences other than what you have deluded yourself into thinking.

I love how politics is just being pulled into everything nowadays, like gaming was not built around politics. For the love of god keep it out of games, or forums. All it does is trigger *everyone* who's active about politics. Life is better when your distractions from life, I.E. games don't involved useless debates over whatever the fuck politicians are doing that are good, bad, or evil. It's all just text on a screen that's not gonna convince anyone to think differently. Like @The Memelord said, it's a TTT Forum
Literally games were made to distract people from the harsh realities of life, let's just leave it at the fucking door instead of just dragging in a shitfest that's just absolutely useless. Don't drag it in here, and stop getting so heated over what people's opinions you've never seen before in real life or will ever see.
    Damn.

Now, for the daily trump criticism.
Why the FUCK would Trump pull out of the 1987 Missiles Treaty for when Russia developed only like 1? Meanwhile he has plenty stationed in Romania and is currently getting some in Poland. I feel like he needs to back down from that decision and accept that 1 missile type as Russia's attempt of balancing his actions.

Ok, please bring out the accurate violent crime rates against trans. Like I said before I dont think anyone can validate "verbal harassment" anymore.

Also the way they did the deaths, is per 100000, meaning all things are scaled up. Those dont show any disproportion.

And also, do not use a survey as that is exactly the same thing as the verbal harassment issue, I want a police report or a study please. Cause you are being a kid and saying "no" and not showing any evidence.

(Disclaimer: I have nothing against the lgbtq+ community (unless u include maps) and this is not trying to go target you @Glyph )

Just a side note, stranger killings are very rare. They - in the US, 2017 - make up around 10% of victims, which is out of a total of around 15000 victims nationwide (source).
Fun fact: you are far more likely to be killed by someone you know than you are to be killed by a stranger (but luckily, you're not that likely to be killed). So you probably won't get gunned down in the street, even if you're trans (y)

Anywho, the point to this was that there are actually "very few" homicides. Which means that running statistics for a group that makes up (using Zyp's stat) less than half a percentage of the population is not a very reliable metric, even trying to account for the difference in quantity. Being murdered is an anomaly. At best, Zyp's stats are indicative that there aren't transgender hunting parties... yet >:3
Non-lethal assault (aggravated and other forms of assault) on the other hand, is a lot more common. A lot being nearly 100 times as common as murder in the US (source).
So, going by those arrests for assault, it is a lot more prevalent and may target transgender people at a higher rate than is normal. I didn't research this much since it was hard (took more than 5 seconds) to find a reliable source of information, fact check me if you want to.
    So... There's that.

It is true that transgender people face discrimination. It's hard to quantify it, so a solid statistic or report is hard to find. Microaggressions can suck my micropenis. And a lot of the discrimination may well be perceived slights and harassment, blowing the actual act way out of proportion (low self-esteem => molehill = mountain).
That said, I think that a transgender person will face more overt discrimination and abuse, physical or verbal, from the people in their life than the average person. The vast majority of people would be polite, even if they disagreed with it. But assholes exist. And friends and relatives are often a mixed bag in this regard. Not to mention that certain areas/cultures are vastly more tolerant or intolerant of deviants like gays, lesbians, and so on.

..Did I have a point? Idk. Is this thread derailed from Trump? Probably.

About the whole military thing? I don't know what Americans do in their military but we have 1 standard for all and then additional depending on what your career within the military is, if you can't pull your weight, then you are gone.

That being said, I've seen stronger, more dedicated women that I'd gladly have covering my ass in any type of war scenario, and I've seen males that don't belong in the military at all.

As far the trans topic, I've never seen one during training, I'm sure there are though somewhere, and unless studies prove otherwise, if they can pull their weight and pass what needs to be passed to not drag a section down in a moment of need, then let them in. The last thing you need in a high stress situation is someone who is already stressed from their life choices making one stupid move and getting people killed.
