Return of the Easter Bunny?

So around either Easter 2014 or 2015 (there was no forum post so i cant reference)
We had the Easter Bunny arrive on the servers, very few people left will remember it...
Random players would be selected to be the bunny and they would get high jump and double speed for the round, as well as scary looking bunny model.



The event only ran for the Easter weekend (Good Friday - Easter Monday)

I was trying to think of ways to bring the event back but make it more fun an accessible and I came up with two ideas


Idea 1

When the round appears the map is littered with Easter Eggs, (as many as doesn't effect performance)
There are two groups, a small amount of Bunny's who keep the high jump and speed and the Egg hunters who are normal innocents.
The Eggs contain points and the objective would be to collect as many as possible.
The bunny's have the speed but the hunters have the numbers making an intense fight for eggs!

Rewards would be given for
- Every Egg you collect
- Total Eggs your team got (so everyone wins!)
- Winning Team

Idea 2

This idea is similar to the first expect the Bunnys take on a juggernaut type role and instead of being nippy and fast, they're strong and tough but slower and the hunters would have to kill the bunnys before they collect all the eggs, sort of in keeping with the TTT theme. The bunnies would be able to kill hunters (they'd respawn however to avoid bunnies killing everyone then hunting eggs freely) but their main job is to collect Eggs that those pesky hunters have stolen!

Rewards would be given
-Bunnies get points for every egg they take back
-Hunters get points for every egg they successfully defend
- Hunters would get some points based on damage done to bunnies (not much as the main objective is the Egg hunt)

These are just some rough ideas that would be manipulating current stuff we have on the server to make it less work, but I'd love some feedback as these ideas are just my own and very loose.

You know I thought I was going crazy when I remembered the easter bunny event. I could never find any evidence for it but thank god you remembered. This is why I love you

I think idea 1 is nice though. I feel like it can still be tweaked but not sure how. I'll comment when I can think of something.

I thought about specific skins but because Easter is only 1 Weekend it felt unfair to make unique rewards for an event so small however off the top of my head without hitting the religious connotations of Easter uhh

- Chocolate Harpoon?
- Easter Egg grenade?
- C4 wrapped in basket mesh? Easter Basket C4 I guess?

 

The easter egg grenade sounds amazing but I'm not really for the other two.

 

I agree. While all three ideas are truly great, I think making the frag grenade into an Easter egg is most certainly the best one.

 

Yeah i mean i thought of them in 30 seconds.

There's some fun religious things you could do but it would be rather offensive.

 

I think it'd be fun to have it be a non violent event, having it be juggernaught style is just like another boss fights / reapers / hidden / man in the middle /

I like this idea. Easter Egg grenade and the C4 don't sound bad and I like the 1st option of game modes better.

 

Easter is in a week, given up on this idea lel
