Who cares if someone has a m0at.gg in their name. The fact that it's censored here is pretty stupid.
Context: Players with moat added onto their name do so because they are also playing in another community which gives incentives for players who include these characters in their username; which is a shameless, albeit clever attempt at promoting the community both inside and outside their servers.
We shouldn't be forcing people to change their names. It's their choice, we have no right. It's considered advertisement once they start promoting it on the servers/forums, at which point protocol shall be put into effect for the same.
Was the title changed or ..?
No. Theres just mo point in enforcing it in the servers. However these forums are solely sgm, not other servers.
Who cares, the majority of people ignore it.
People rep their home communities all the time- sometimes communities that may be different than this one. It’s never caused an issue.
Making a change like this would not only be petty for the minority of people that do it, but also give the community an image of insecurity. It also has a high potential from locking people out of their accounts and discouraging them from joining SGM since they would likely not notice the name change and have issues logging in.
I guess You’re right. It is pretty petty and It would cause login issues. Thank you for your response Helix.
Clever not cleaver @The Law
i always thought it was a gambling site, lol
When i was staff 90% of them got banned for rdm anyway, so i guess their "advertisement" is bad advertisement anyway
I'll tell you its sure not a serious gaming community with their dogshit tickrate and ruleset
They have moat in their names because you get supporter points or whatever and you can buy stuff with them (even a VIP rank after billions of years of having it in your name). The moat in people's names actually worked pretty well as an advertisement to me. I looked up the server to see if I liked it more than this one, tried it for a while, didn't like it at all, so I didn't use it. If I had liked it, I would be playing there now. It's not a problem or anything. Let people play on the server they like the most.
It might as well be. I barely even played the game itself on that server because my gun was too weak (Yes, the guns have levels or some shit; I never really understood it; also everyone is so distracted with the loot crate system that they constantly craft/open/trade shit), so I just played gambling minigames in their in-game store. It was addicting as fuck - I earned so many points with it!
It all comes down to what Acno has already said. There's not an issue with them having it in their name as long as they're not promoting it themselves. If they are, then yes we'd have an issue and protocol put into place
I agree with this on forum only, its NOT your name and altho used on steam in relation to moat
the use of it as a forum name is clearly over the top as your forum account has 0 use with moat and only advantage is advertising were it doesnt belong
Who are you to say when someone can or cannot have a word in their name that might mean something to them? Moat might hold something more to them, their introduction into TTT and they enjoy the name in their name, you can't rip that away from them just because it's a competing server, because it does no harm.
I'm just a person with an opinion. No need to be hostile about it
I stand with what I said
This is a suggestion thread im not telling im just discussing
