    I'm at work rn so can't write a detailed response but I'd highly recommend you switch over to a new mobo, something like the following;
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-Z170-...?ie=UTF8&qid=1492515997&sr=8-1&keywords=z170a
    Then buying a nice INTEL (BECAUSE AMD IS TERRIBLEWEDSRFGB) CPU like the following;
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-BX80...=UTF8&qid=1492516068&sr=1-1&keywords=i5+6600k

    Keep all ur existing parts and swap them over they should be good to go.

    May wanna look at getting some better RAM though like the following;
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CM...UTF8&qid=1492516105&sr=1-2&keywords=16gb+2400

    it scored a little less than double on the benchmarks, for $10 more. everything else is pretty much the same. Your bottleneck will be your SSD, so if you invest 200-300 on an m.2, you'll be able to read/write over 1000 mb/s

    Totals at about £500ish which doesnt leave much room for a new mobo?

    yeah you could always upgrade other parts later. youll have to get new ram and the new CPU with the new Mobo.

    if you can't afford all three at once, hold off on it. and you dont "need" the m.2 SSD, any SSD would boggle your mind in this setup. I invested $300 in a 512gb 950 pro last year, and it was worth it for me.

    No, the motherboard must be compatible with the CPU socket.

    There are AMD and Intel versions of most motherboards.

    For AMD CPUs: Socket AM4
    For Intel CPUs : Socket LGA 1151 (also the mb and the cpu must be compatible, they'll usually list which gen it supports, but 1151 has been around for a while)
