Wanna try an Idea, On Mondays we recommend each other albums to listen to. More so for me to listen to some music recommended by others, but also to show off my shit taste in music.

I'll go ahead and start, this Monday I will recommend "The Normal Album" by Will Wood.
It's one of my favorite albums of 2020 each song feels different but can be connected with various leitmotifs.

Genre: Alt Jazz? I'm not good with Genres
Personal Favorite songs: Laplace's Angel, OKULTRA, ...well better than the alternative

i don't usually listen to full albums so i'll just put a song every monday instead that i've been listening to a lot. all my picks are probably gonna be very cringe mainstream but I'll try shaking it up a bit. I'll start with the song that has been floating in my head a while recently, B. Y. O. B. by System of a Down. A very political, "Frick the government and Frick war" that goes absolutely bonkers. The chorus is banging, I love the musical metaphors, and how off the rails it gets. It's almost impossible to not smile when you hear the line "Hangers sitting dripped in oil/Crying FREEEEDOOOOOOOM". Glad I discovered System of a Down, slowly getting through their catalogue and loving it.

(oh yeah it's nu/hard metal idk)

Hello friends, it is in fact Monday again, and I have another album to share with you all

This week I'm sharing something a little more edgy, this one is Knife Man by Andrew Jackson Jihad (AJJ)
this album is honestly everywhere which is I why I love it, from discussing racial inequality, to carrying your dead friend to be properly buried, to the entire fact that Phoenix AZ doesn't care about humans. It's a work of art of an album that I instantly fell in love with so that's why I'm sharing it with you all.

    Genre: Folk Punk
Fav songs: Hate, Rain on me, People II 2: Still peopling, Big Bird,

    See you all next week!

  9. This fucking album is off-the walls. It mixes the virtuosity and song structures of progressive rock, with the snarkiness and attitude of post-punk, making something called "pronk".

This fucking double albums consists of constant turns and subverted expectations. It's impossible to get bored while listening to this.

This album was what got me into electric music and made me fall in love with it, truly sad to see them part ways

    Genre: Electronic
Fav songs: Around the world, Da Funk, Revolution 909

F for daft punk. I hope they stay in the industry and work with other artists to start pumping out some more bangers. I could see them being behind the best pop albums for the next 10 years easily.

Here are 2 new tracks I've had on repeat lately. It's dubstep but like.. the good kind, I swear..
  13. Damnit it's too hard to find rips of full albums on youtube.

    Mr. Bungle - California

Every song somehow feels like a different artist, yet still the same. Mr. Bungle is just one of those bands that try out multiple genres, and manage to hit the mark spot-on at all times.

    Recommended track: Retrovertigo

Even comes with a fan-made music video. :)

    Lonesome Town: Ricky Nelson

For all those people who are sad. Great song, I know this isn't an album but still good.

    Also, recommend these two songs

Man, when I was 15 these guys were my favorite. Didn't really care for knife man tho/the electric vibe of it. Regardless, now that I'm 25 I can't stand any of their music so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I forgot to post mine for last week, and since nothing has particularly stood out (except for another SYOD song, toxicity is such a good album) I’ll go for last weeks.

Welcome back to place where weekly you lose respect of me by showcasing my trash music taste! Today I’m picking a song (since I don’t listen to full albums that much since I’m basic) I discovered from @Pierogi, Otherside by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. A song about drug addiction. This song puts the pain of going through an addiction in such an accessible way, it’s remarkable. The depressing lead and bass grooves fit perfectly, with the intensity ramping up just as it should. As someone who has dealt with a type of addiction (no harmful substances thankfully) before, lines such as
“I yell and tell it that it's not my friend
I tear it down, I tear it down
    And then it's born again”
really hit the mark. Even if the final message might not be that good (“Taking it on the otherside” could refer to suicide), it’s a song that has a surprising power to it, and has quickly became one of my most played on clone hero.

(also the rock band version of “Best Day Ever” slaps)

John Frusciante's pained backing vocals in this song are SO good. Fantastic song, helped me through a dark period in my life.

Gonna bend the rules a little this week with Trilogy by The Weeknd. It's a compilation of his mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Slience, and while not connected through a narrative like the Wolf trilogy, each story shares the depressing mood that comes with his hopeless partying, empty sex, and endless drugs. Depressing but hell, it's a fucking amazing debut
