He has a point.
I find the fact that we can now say slurs completely ridiculous.
The fact is, however, that if you're going to allow players to say nigger, it's retarded to argue that "kids play on the server" when the idea of allowing nsfw sprays comes up.
I'm not in favor of making nsfw sprays allowed, nor am I in favor of using slurs on the server, but upper administration shouldn't follow logic that directly contradicts what they've allowed on the server.
GMod actually isn't a 16+ game. It has no rating, so anyone can simply buy the game and play. If it was a mature game, you would have to input your date of birth before going to the store page.
I agree if it isn’t full nude let it be
It is rated M for mature though which is the same effect.
No, it has no rating. Anything stating otherwise is a lie.
"by itself Garry's Mod has no content, it's the stuff we put into it that makes it a game. Because you can find anything from E+ servers to R rated servers and Garry has no control over it, Garry's mod is, as the title states, a game about modding and it has the rating you want to give your gameplay experience."
Each server is responsible for its own age limit. Aka we are a mature part of the game since blood and gore are active.
Shit, this is still active? Damn.
What do you get from saying faggot or nigger?
Argument goes both ways.
Edit: Regardless of that, I understand the rules and will go by them. So don't care too much about this 'issue' anymore. Still up for discussion if anyone wishes, however.
I don't see a point in making our servers M rated. Kids are gonna play on here no matter what.
I guess this is what's allowed in terms of 'no nsfw' sprays.
But when I had a spray that was fully clothed, wasn't allowed. I guess.
thats just some girl who's gonna eventually get cold because she is improperly wearing clothes
To quote the extended rules:
1. Arousing images/videos depicting sexual activity, general nudity, sex toys/objects, or sexual substances.
2. Blood, cut body parts, people/creatures being injured, bodies/corpses, and similar things.
3. Content that is graphic, disgusting, or unsettling.
idk man, 'arousing images' is a bit vague, as is 'general nudity'.
that literally makes 0 sense. What do you get out of seeing nudity and lewd shit on a spray in a video game when you can look at your phone? Slurs/insults are not comparable to this. Why avoid answering the question? Genuinely what do you get out of seeing that shit and making other people see it when you can look at it on your own?
Rules are supposed to be vague so they can be generally applied to many cases and some horny dweeb tries to loophole by saying the rule doesn't specifically exclude his spray/case etc.
What do you get out of saying slurs in a video game when you can say it to yourself?
Slurs/insults are comparable to this in terms of ruling, not in moralities. I get nothing out of it. But what do people get out of saying slurs besides appearing like an edgy 6th grader?
I saw some dude today in text chat saying about how much he hated muslims and how islam was cancer - yet that's allowed, of course, none of the mods did anything about it.
The moment the server began to allow racial and homophobic slurs and insults is the moment the server became 18+. We shouldn't be responsible for idiotic, irresponsible parents.
stop bringing up the slurs thing, I don't really give a shit what people say. I want to know what you get out of seeing nude shit/forcing other people to see it? You say it does nothing for you but in your original post you say you enjoy having them? Unconfuse me brother
I'd have to chime in here.. I was banned for a porn spray awhile ago. The thing is, it wasn't porn. I was trying to make fun of the weebs in the server by posting an anime chick with huge titties in a bikini, no nudity was shown. The ban was lifted but still, it was some 18 year old gen z female that banned me for it, obviously someone who is easily offended on the internet.
So at the very least, specify this in the rules. Vague rules lead to annoying misunderstandings. There is a strong difference between what is porn and what is not. There isn't a gray area or any blurred lines here.
apprently the handling of lewd sprays has relaxed, ive seen some sprays that usually would have been straight up banned be shrugged of by administration, and sprays that usually would have been removed by the moderator and the user warned to change it, again shrugged of by administration
explains why you can see shit like this in-game now
where as by the rules, that would be defined as an "arousing" spray as the content is obvious some some gross weeb might like that
please stop being a fucking weirdo and have a normal spray thanks. nobody wants to see your gay cartoons fucking each other
edit: non-toxic edit
The allowance of sprays was already loosened up, it doesnt need to get even more loose.
What the change in the rule did was, now things have to show explicitly and if you censor the part containing the main pornographic content, the spray will not get you a ban, but it will however be considered borderline to where admindiscretion is needed to warn and remove the spray if its too borderline.
Personally I would request a spray like the one dazza posted, to be removed, but its not bannable anymore since it is censored, even if you can still understand it. (Not a fan of the change either bud)
But if you bring up the comparing of the rulechange with the slurs one, they are sorta equal to compare.
The slurs was loosened up, so we dont have to hand out all the petty bans for people who just join to say the slurs without them being directed at anyone, it has kinda just be joined with the harassment rules. And I understand the change, in 1 way, but as stated in another discussion, should be changed to it being allowed when not directed at anyone, but not allowed when directed at anyone, cause honestly, barely anyone knows that all they have to do is message the staff online that they felt harassed by a person using a slur against em. So barely mentions it.
At the same point the Spray was loosened up so we dont have to ban for sprays where the porn part isnt seen or cut out. However we should still warrant warnings for those that are too over the top.
Oh and context wise to the OP's spray, it was brought to my attention that the pants, on the character your spray was of, was so tight that the Female Genetelia was outlined through the pants, hence why it was brought up to discretion to remove ^^ While by our old rulings, you might have been banned because of that outline.
So in short, doesnt need more loosening up than it has already recieved.
Oh no that spray dazza posted is fine. Nothing wrong with it . That's directly from pacifist
