I think the current size works for the community well as is; having a near full staff team both looks good to the community, and keeps those slots competitive enough to where standards are indirectly raised; if there’s a ton of quality applicants and you got inactive/an objectively bad staff member, an admin has options.

If you were going to expand the team, I’d argue the best way would be by promoting another lead (I only see one candidate for that right now, and you’d ideally want an eu candidate right now or someone who could really dedicate time to rebuilding that portion of the community, lots jumped ship.) and adding a new admin team or two from there. I don’t think admins should get five mods, I’m a purist in the sense that I truly think the four cap should keep admins focused on their team and strengthening up their attributes the best you can.

 

also another point I forgot about... there’s still 2 open slots and 5 trial moderators working on their Boy Scout moderator badge, effectively meaning 7 of the 24 current moderator spots can’t staff right now (little under a third). I’d let at least the trial mods do their thing before seeing how dire need it is

if i remember correctly this is something @Pacifist already intends on doing when he has a 2nd lead buddy, i mean be fair having to worry about 8 admins and their 4 mods each is a lot of work for a solo lead and it has burned out solo leads before, for now i think its enough untill we have a 2nd lead
