Hi, So the past 7 years i've been playing several games including SGM servers using the in-game name R.B. Now is this a relatively short name. Therefor some mods ask me to change my name, since it doesnt have atleast 3 english characters. Other mods defend my name saying the dots are also an english character, meaning my name contains 4 english characters of which 3 different ones. With this tread i want to make clear to myself wether or not i should change my name when playing on SGM servers. Note that i have been playing for several years with this name already, but i dont make it a problem if being asked to change it. Grz, R.B.
English characters are A-Z and 0-9 as listed in the Extended Rules found here. Dots, commas, colons, semi-colons, dashes and just about any special character do not count.
Yes, you should change your name when playing on SGM servers, because the name is invalid. Like @Orion said, dots are not English letters.
