i want to start making mods and addons for gmod and i know some of the basics of algorithm how hard its is to get into lua?
It is my understanding that lua isn't that complicated to learn, but that it is sometimes restrictive.
It’s really easy, code blue makes good tutorials on YouTube. unfortunately, the gmod forums were shutdown about a year or so ago, there was a lot of helpful shit on there that is just gone now.
Yeah some of the stuff is archived. I'd recommend watching Code Blue's videos if you have 0 experience, and reading the documentation. Making addons isn't that hard. I've made several TTT servers in the past, and have wrote many, many addons. It's very easy. Just stupid because it's lua and source 1 fucking sucks dick.
Its not hard. Just stupid in some ways because it isn't an OOP language. Code starts to look real shit real quick, but it is easy. Have fun networking tho, that'll make your head explode.
Setting up things like routers, switches, intranets. You know all those colorful cables inside server rooms? That’s networking. Dime would prolly be able to give a better and more in-depth explination
Yeah I'm a NetAdmin at my HS but when I say networking in mean in GMod. https://wiki.facepunch.com/gmod/Net_Library_Usage
