Dear Friends of SeriousGmod, I write to you now from a laundromat computer that has a sticky space bar, so I'll keep this short. So! Long Story Short, my Roommate is a felon, and his Probation officer used some seriously questionable methods to confiscate my laptop. I have a backup laptop (somewhere) but I have no idea if it works or if I will be able to find it in the first place, nor do I know when my own laptop will be returned to me. And so, with much heartache, I say farewell for now, and know that while I must part for now, I will always hold all of you assholes in my heart, and will return at the soonest. And if you want to all band together and start a fund to replace my laptop and perhaps sue the government, I'm not suggesting it, but that would be nice.

No, nothing illegal happened on my end. What he did was insanely questionable, and the worst my laptop has is some furry porn on it.
I meant it in the ways of "hopefully the PO officer was within his rights to confiscate your laptop and that hopefully he gets it back to you"
Gotcha X3 Part of me hopes it wasn't in his rights, since that gives us more grounds to dismiss him. This isn't the first stunt he's pulled, though it is arguably the worst!
Did you ever allow your roommate to use the laptop? Sounds like the only reason I could imagine he could scrape by with. Still shady. Are you dependant on your laptop for school work? I'd be fighting that tooth and nail.
I use it for work and pleasure, mainly. My roomate never has the ability to get on the laptop, though the legal definition for 'access' is a grey area.

Jk, but still that sucks if he did, if you find out you can do something legally about it I suggest you take it assuming you can afford it, cause we all know legal payments can really suck.
