I'm here to save everyone's lives. Progress through the quest "Confidence Man" AT YOUR OWN RISK. Better save before you do because I didn't and there's a huge bug that won't go away. It's annoying to fix. Basically you can't finish the quest and your character becomes an essential character meaning you can never die and some other annoying stuff happens. Time for me to make a new character while I wait for an easy fix.
Spoiler: BIG SPOIL DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT OPENING THIS I'm amazed at Bethesda. First having the robot call you by your chosen name, then Shaun being a mix of you and your spouse both in baby form and adult form.
Going on this.... Spoiler: SPOOOILERRRR I joined the institute and so far it feels kinda wrong and the missions are going against the railroad etc, I feel like eventually I'm gonna have to split from the institute and do something big like: Spoiler: Game ending spoiler Spoiler: Click at own risk Either kill my son (old man shouldn't be too hard to kill) or do something really crazy like nuke the commonwealth and "start anew"
Spoiler The minute men do conflict with the brotherhood of steel. What I did was just make a save at the point in the story would I have to choose which faction I sided with so I could do all the quest lines at least it's a lot easier than New vegas
So i kind of messed up my main save game. Spoiler: what so you know when paul pembroke is pissed off at cooke? basically i agreed to intimidate him, but he shot cooke anyways. later on cookes daughter finds me and says i killed her father. i try to stop a fight from happening, but she just starts shooting at me. so then all of the diamond city people out at night start shooting me lets just say a lot of missles were involved. i ended up killing most of diamond city's police force, the sushi bot, the meat girl, the swatter dude, cookes daughter, the robot named percy, the other robot near cooke's bar, and some residents the game goes on as if nothing happened though you know how piper hates it when you attack innocent people of diamond city? She didnt care at all and now im romancing her So diamond city does its normal buisness now, just without some of the vendors i listed Its like nobody cared at all so thats what happened to my main save
Spoiler: spoiler protip, after you find dogmeat, bring him to the vault and to the cryolater. ask him to find nearby items and he will automatically grab the cryolater for you
Some people finish it fine. But there's a lot who get the exact same bug as I do. There's many posts on reddit and other sites complaining about this exact bug.
Ooooh all of yall got your fancy BOS power armor. Well, the spoiler shows what the minutemen gives you. Spoiler: The benefit of the Minutemen Artillery, because why have a big suit of armor when my settlements can blast my opponents while I sip tea.
Anyone else experiencing these problems like me? I put one of my characters on survival mode and it resets back to normal when I restart. The HUD and Pipboy colours also reset on restart. Edit: Found a fix. My ini file was set to readonly for some reason.
Spoiler: Spoiler Has anyone else done the Silver Shroud questline yet? It's pretty fun to be a comic book hero.
I haven't finished it yet but Spoiler With codsworth as my companion he gets totally into it and inserts his own speech occasionally when I speak as silver shroud
