  1. So the common sense rule is something which isnt really useful right now.
There are a few examples but they mostly fall under ppl not iding bodys and being gba I feel the common sense rule should intervene with the rule

"You cannot KOS for t traps"

Im going to use this report here
as an example of what I think should be changed.
If you have the map knowledge to know where t buttons are and see something like this I'd say its pretty undeniable that this guy was a T.
Even if someone could have pressed it through the wall this guy was looking dead at the button and it's fucking dumb to say this man cant be killed for it. He was clearly looking to get killed in the first place or messing about trying to get someone slain if he was inno which is why i think the rule common sense should cover this from being rdm

There are alot more examples where "common sense" isn't being used according to the rules even tho it is cant think of any of the top of my head rn but in summary I think that the "common sense rule" should be expanded on and looked at because right now it seems to me that it isnt as useful as it can be.

The thing with finger button traps is that sometimes it's impossible to tell who pressed them. For example, locking a door in 67thway can be activated from the T room. I know there's some you might be able to know for sure, but for simplicity's sake it's easier to say none are traitorous than to go through every single one and make separate rules for each.
  3. True but what i'm saying here is there are special cases like this one where common sense should be used Like say there is a det with a radar 2 signals one across the map one right next to him and this guy looks where the button is and opens it you have deduced one is a t one is inno and this guys just looked dead at a t trap and activated it. I just feel common sense needs to be expanded and in some reports there should be a bit of leeway because of it

I've had T buddies RDMed cause I activated the motel pit trap near them and someone took it as them, sooooo nah, unless you wanna get beaned for activating a t trap you didnt

The thing is with the T traps are:
    1) they're invisible, so you can't prove he's looking at it
    2) Any T from anywhere on the map can activate them. This means the suspected player could maybe not have activated it.

Because the kill is based on suspicion, not above suspicion, the kill cannot be based on common sense. Instead, if you feel like the player activated a trap, just follow them the rest of the game. If you're right, they'll slip up and you'll have solid grounds to kill them. If you're wrong, then you've got another ally on your side when a T does strike. Win-win, right?

Imagine if it was your T round and you stare at the trap and are debating whether or not to use it. Then, your T buddy activates the trap. You're then killed for it, having done nothing. That would be quite frustrating!

  6. In cases like these it would fall under rdm but in cases that are so obvious like the one i mentioned and the report i have shown it's stupid to not be able to kill someone and then lose the round because they see u and blast you with a fucking shotgun or whatever common sense should be common sense not half of it

Honestly im not a fan, as you and others have mentioned they can be triggered through walls ETC , meaning, even if they look DIRECTLY at the trigger you still cant know it was them, I know people who look at the triggers as a joke, sometimes a t did actually trigger the trap making it look like an inno triggered it

I'm sure you might be able to claim common sense on the 1% of T trap reports like that, but for the other 99% of situations where people get killed for activating T traps it's still RDM.

    eww TMI

seriously though its not out of context the fact that someone else could have done it is the very reason this is blatant RDM. "common sense" is when the situation literally cannot be explained with anything else other than the person you are killing being the traitor

The common sense rule is wide as it is, you can kill for a lot of things, even T traps, if you have the information neccesary to decide there is noone else on the map who could have activated the trap in the trap case. Else its just that the player 100% committed a T act.

I had a scenario where there was 6 players alive, 4 of them was messing around in spawn, 1 was waiting for someone to come by a T trap that was far away from spawn, because I had just witnessed the position of the 4 other players I could kill the 5th guy when he activated a T trap on me.

As Obvious as it seems someone activated it, the case could be someone else that wasnt within your view while you were focussing on 1 guy, activated the trap and made it look like the guy you thought activated it, activated it.

what the fuck does any of this even mean. what do you actually want. maybe i'd be down with the sickness if i knew exactly what it is the sickness entails.

Also, he never went inside the T room so it isn't even a traitorous act. It could a been anybody who hit that fuckin button. He may just be a retard staring up for no reason.

With all that has been said by everyone, I think you'll find some very useful information.

I appreciate your suggestion, but the common sense rule is fine as it is. You just have to remember that you must have knowledge of every single person; not just the person you thought activated the trap.

I'll call this one rejected with the main takeaways below:
