Since we have discord and have become cross-platform, I think it's time that we allow us to use all emojis in Shoutbox to allow for compatibility between Discord and Shoutbox.

Currently, this happens when you are viewing Discord vs. Shoutbox

It just deletes some of the emojis and somehow and for whatever reason, leaves some of them still in there. However, we could really use Emojis on SB too so Discord and SB look the same and we don't have to be forced to switch to Discord to understand what someone is talking about. Not to mention, this could also allow us to simply use the Mobile keyboard to insert Emojis instead of trying to play Can you Tap that? with current emoticons.

Also to have less of this:

As far as I'm aware, this is actually really simple to implement if Opal wants to, as there are already addons you can install from Xenfore, notably the two most popular ones, EmojiOne and Emoji Smilie

What these people are saying is that this is a terrific suggestion and a positive thing to have so they +1'd on the merit of the solution.

Unfortunately XenForo does not support Emojis, and I'm not aware of any way to add support for that.
(For the techies: the database structure of XenForo does not support it due to not supporting utf8mb4 - 4 byte UTF-8, which is what emojis require)

Well, to be precise: XenForo 1 does not support it. XenForo 2, however, does. If and once we move to XenForo 2, that may be a different story. But that's not something we have in mind right now.

    Thanks for suggesting.

    Hey again.

Contrary to what I said before, I did manage to find a way around this limitation.
SBridge now fully supports standard Unicode emojis and custom Discord emojis, both animated and non-animated.

    Enjoy!
