So as I was going to aska question about a DNA situation, I thought I would recheck the rules to see if they were written there, but what I came across is that the rules around DNA scans actually doesnt state a lot, there is the recently added rule about not following DNA you dont know the source of. However aside from that rule there isnt anything saying about what type of DNAs that are legal to follow. Mostly you know by common sense that you arent allowed to follow DNA from ; Traitor Bodies, weapons, Healthstation and other Detective Equipment. Maybe add it to the rules to make sure no players is going to come around and say, "The rules doesnt state that you cant follow that type of DNA" Anyway what I really wanted to Ask was, in given situation are you allowed to use DNA from weapons: You see someone Kill a player and drop their weapon before running away, you didnt catch their name but you know they used the specific weapon they dropped.
I mean you should be able to if you are 100% sure it was them that dropped said weapon and that you saw them use it
Yes to your question, as long as there is only one set of DNA on it and not two. There is no reason to specify what you can use since it comes down to common sense. Is it a t item? Was it used in a traitorous act? Then yes.
In addition that that response, you may follow the DNA when there are 2 sets of DNA if, and only if, you are piecing together the correct variables. When retrieving multiple DNA strands, you receive the DNA from the first person to put their DNA on the weapon to the last - starting from the right. These are just some examples of correct usage of this method of common sense: Please keep in mind that you must witness every variable of the situation. This includes but is not limited to the traitorous act taking place, where the weapon is at all times and whos hands that the weapon happens to come into contact with. Also, keep in mind that one's DNA will only be put onto any weapon/piece of equipment if they pick it up. Same goes with a C4; you do not put DNA on the C4 if you defuse it. These are also only 2 of numerous variations of common sense so feel free to work with the concept to create your own scenarios. With experience, you can clarify an infinite number of cases having to do with common sense but one significant theme remains the same: common sense implies 100% certainty. Have some fun and play with some interesting ways of correctly using the common sense rule. After all, it is a video game. Thanks for the great questions, ~Hyper
