My friend got it yesterday and after we found each other, an armed bandit killed both of us as fresh spawns. I see no point in that but making friendly player's experience worse.
So I had good luck traveling inland. Players were few and far inbetween. I ran into one guy who instantly put up his hands, so I gave him water and laughed as I ran off. Found some pretty good swag, including a mosin I just found. Now I just need a scope and bullets so I can start picking off the bandits.
My character also got reset so I Joined a server Competer was Playing on found a shovel took off my pants and chased new spawns playing Tiny Tim's "living in the sunshine Loving in the moonlight" until i got sniped.
I lagged and fell to my death from a factory. Then i respawned, found my dead body, and took all my shit back.

I did that last night so I think I need a break. Ohh, that happened to me a while ago. Just buddy with someone and have them kill a loaded guy. Could work out in your favor.
