Please? It's getting old just playing Dust, Dolls, Lego, Pool / Bowling on a cycle. Can we add some new maps / replace some overdone ones? Like, add Space Station or Forest. Or, bring back map rotation because these idiots shouldn't be able to have a democracy anymore; they vote for the same shit over and over.
Like, look at this map. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=106821161&searchtext=de_forest Imagine playing on that. The foliage doesnt over-exert PCs either, so it has good fps. You could plant trip wire mines in the bushes and actually use them as a mine is supposed to be used, or use a disguiser and snipe with a dragunov from concealed cover. The same open, bright, 90 degree corner maps is old as shit, it's not fun anymore. Add some damn variety to this server or it'll go stale
sgm has done so much to try and prevent same map votes there’s literally nothing more to be done at this point lol use the search bar idiot
Fuck off, rube. If they have "done so much to prevent the same map votes" then we'd have a rotation still.
Like, I love this server and community, but at the end of the day it is just a game, and it's getting booooring. I want to support this server, but at this point I just feel like I'm juicing a dry orange because nobody is doing anything to change it for the better, it's just roll back roll back roll back, undoing every good change but not bringing back any of the fun maps we used to have. This server is regressing.
Replacing some of the overplayed maps might cause some players to stop playing on the TTT servers which might be a little counter-productive to be honest. That being said though I am absolutely tired of people choosing the same maps @Hongo mentioned at the beginning of this thread over and over again because the repetitiveness does make things dull to be honest. Adding a bunch of new maps might be a good idea especially since we have dozens of backed-up and/or overlooked TTT map suggestions that haven't been taken into consideration in my opinion. Also, I think that the map voting screen/window should be modified so that it can shuffle out overplayed maps for either new or underplayed ones if that is possible.
Right, like, a map should not be able to be voted back in for an hour or so. I'm fucking sick of just, (OVERPLAYED MAP, OVERPLAYED MAP, Different map that we never get to play but it gets RTV'd by idiots, OVERPLAYED MAP..., ect)
tbh, there is another option. That is to impose rotating maps cycle with 6 maps that you can vote akin to vanilla.
Wow, just throw a suggestion in thats disgusting just to be malevolent. How about uh, no? Next please.
The best solution here is literally A. Get some high level staff who can actually fix the server B. REMOVE map voting entirely, bring back the rotation so we can play all the maps C. Introduce new maps to the server.
Except this is in TTT discussion and not in actual suggestions. Secondly, it's to disapprove Echo's point wrong. There is more to revamp the map voting and what not in order to achieve different variety.
I think longer cooldowns would be a great hot fix, and if we come up with a new solution it can be added later
A few old maps that could be readded (previously removed due to smaller map rotation in the past) Infini b5 parkhouse rats kitchen ford marine (old pool too)(you kno which one im talking about the good one) solid maps that already passed optimization and standard. Only removed to update rotation. Theres a post somewhere around the shutdown announcement that suggested adding back old maps that would be easy enough to readd since theyve already passed any testing and werent removed for any negative reasons. Increasing cooldown too is cool.
I mean if you really wanted to eliminate repeat maps constantly you'd lump maps together in a collection of 5 per se and have players vote on which map collection they want to play. Spread some maps around so all collections have some decent maps in and make it so the last 2 collections can't be voted on. 1 skip map per collection or something. Longer Cooldowns would change very little imo, an extra map or 2 doesn't change the popular ones being voted. All that happens is 2 other maps also get lumped into the popular category.
