You can acquire points by playing on the servers, winning fun rounds, and winning the lottery. Allowing point purchases would create a "pay to win" state, which would be not fair for all members of the community.
Exactly what Sith Master said. If you really need points, just AFK on one of the servers whenever you go out. And remember to always try your luck in the Giveaway sub-forum, there's always a couple of point-based giveaways you can enter into.
