Rejected Bring Back Dissociating Steam Accounts 2K17

All I wanted to do was to buy ranks again for myself and feed Highwon's family of staff members, all of that changed when I was no longer able to disassociate. Help your local staff members be fed today, support disassociation.

(AKA I had an old forum account from when I originally joined the SGM community in 2014, forgot about it and made this one. I was just going to dissociate from this account and then re-buy my ranks on the original account but was unable to due to my ranks </3)

Well it wasn't a ttt specific thing so I didn't know where to put it

 

I actually really want this. I'm kinda upset that we aren't allowed to anymore since there's no satisfying reason why we aren't allowed to anymore.

 

I can see staff requiring steam login for documentation and tracking purpose for bans or people just trolling and removing their accounts.

However, I am wondering if this violates any API Terms of Use or Privacy Concerns with Valve.

Reviewing API and Private Policy information. I was leaning towards; No it doesn't, Seriousgmod and Highwon can restrict your removal of your account because it does not violate any privacy concerns. Due to how API information and collection works, no information is associated with your steam login and this website that couldn't be gained from say http://steamrep.com.

Would it be nice to have again? Sure. Does it benefit the staff to keep accounts associated with profiles for record keeping? Absolutely.

My only concern is seriousgmod doesn't allow you to delete your original account, therefore locking your steam information to one ID here. If there was a serious situation or personal privacy concern (and you wanted it removed) I am sure Highwon or Lead Admins would work something out to remove information if needed.

While the community might vote largely in favor to have accounts removed again, I don't see Highwon reallowing us to do this for a number of reasons.
