Then you kept complaining. All that did was make your apology seem insincere, that you were only doing it to avoid further punishment. And maybe your apology was just that. Maybe you felt like Hongo deserved what you said because you see him as one of the most toxic players on SGM. Maybe even now, you feel like you were justified. The issue with that is that you still messed up.
At the end of the day, the slay on Hongo was invalid. And if you can't even apologize for making a genuine mistake as a staff member, mistakes that many staff alike make regularly, then a spot on the staff team may not be right for you. Again, maybe your apology was genuine, but if it was, there should have been no reason to continue bad-mouthing the situation in public.
