No one said it’s never popped; Vanilla is wildly more populated than Modded, no one can really dispute that So knife upgrades on vanilla could be cool
So what your saying is that the sound is useless? All it does is give people a heads up "hey ur dead lmao"? That's not what it is at all lol. It gives innos enough time to call out their killer. Also if they need to be stealthy they can pull out their knife before getting to them at a far enough range so they can't hear. Also if they need it to be stealthy it won't matter if noone's nearby.

I know Jabba is pretty keen on keeping Vanilla as vanilla as possible, so I can't imagine this will get accepted; however, I am not opposed to this.

This would be a cool idea, it's strange that a deagle to the head could be more subtle in some situations than a knife in the back, because the sound is so distinct. A quick deagle shot has potential to get covered up in a crowd or by gunshots, while once anyone hears that knife pulled out, all eyes immediately search for it. If it's too much to implement a one shot upgrade, silent or reduced sound range upgrades could be a cool addition to give Ts more options for stealthy gameplay.
I do wanna add that all the new players that play on vanilla. They buy a knife and try to kill someone and die. They always say that they thought it was a 1 hit kill. Making them never use it again. It's simply not fun when they have time to turn around and kill you most of the time

Am I wrong for thinking the upgrades would be a balance change for the knife? Damage / Noise reduction seem like they would apply under balancing changes. Only asking for clarification, not trying to waste anyone’s time. In my eyes this is an unlockable buff for the knife.
Base weapon stats, as in non-upgraded. Balancing would be if we changed the normal knife stats to be silent/one-hit/etc.
I understand what he’s saying. In regard to not making changes he meant weapons’ base stats, and by base stats he meant their non upgraded stats. It was just the fact that an explanation was required to clarify yet another explanation, that made it convoluted.
+1, knife is useless as it is. There are so many maps with secret knives that I think making them one-shot might be OP, but making them silent would be nice.
As i said, it won't give you time to react if you're under 50 hp, so it won't give you the possiblity to turn around and call out your killer. But that won't matter beacuse everyone will be searching for you cuz they heard a knife and if they were listening they could've even heard the body fall on the floor giving them even more information. Pulling out a knife far away to avoid being heard is the most stupid thing i've heard all day. It's just a bad idea. Imagine running from quite a distance with a knife out just to be called out by any bystander / and anyone else who would've heard it when you were trying to avoid getting heard by your main target. The knife is supposed to be a stealthy 1 use tool for silent kills. Instead it makes noise both when you pull it out, and then also when the body hits the floor. It dosen't 1-shot unless you're under the threshold, its range is limited and the throw range is hard to predict and hard to execute. To be clear, i think it is good as it is right now, for everything but the sound. You could make it upgradable so you could remove the sound like that, or just remove the sound from the knife for no extra charge. Both would be good possiblites.
