The idea is that it would be for trial mods and give examples on how to tackle certain types of reports. It would by no means be required, but it would be highly recommended.
It could be a good idea at times, but if a past mod who hasn't been mod for a while and went thru the tmod phase again, it would be highly boring to them because they would already know how to handle the report
There's no need for something like what Paci is making to be given to everybody. You say you'd "Be able to see if they're doing reports right." You can't see the reports. You don't know anything about it, except for what your biased to believe, which is that you are right and they are wrong. If you think somebody is doing something wrong, just bring it up to their admin or report them and their admin will take a look at it, if they are being negligent they'll be punished. That's how it works. You already know our protocol, its in the rules, and staff explain it every single time anything ever happens if somebody asks about it. There's no point in teaching somebody how to take care of a report when they can't take care of a report. Like some people have already said, there are several guides for moderators and tmods that they should be given when they are promoted. Giving people who aren't staff things like this will just increase backseat moderating, it's pointless. From what I'm aware, its going to be made for tmods, and available to tmods, just like all of the other staff information and guidelines that are made for and given to staff and staff only. You can see the rules to know if somebody's bending them.
Seriously you just need to learn the rules. Staffing isn’t a technical course like driving a vehicle or using a complex application like Python. Or u can just use the Trial Mod Aptitude Exam I made and make it public to test yourself c:
My first tenure was me training as trial for 12 hours, then right after I was promoted I was thrown into vanilla by myself. I had that shit down pat.
It would be better if they couldn't make forums reports edit: does anyone have my sense of humor in this god damn place
