Nerf the Healing from Death Stations upgrade.

  1. Not fully remove the upgrade, but I wouldnt mind that. But it seriously needs a nerf. It's much too overpowered for a traitor to buy a health station that only they can use and is locked behind a massive point wall. I propose nerfing it by making it so you can only heal up to a certain amount of health instead of max. Healing to around 65 or so would make it so it's still a very useful upgrade, but it isnt effectively a second life for the traitors.

    I think before the rollback there was a lower amount of max HP you could get from deathstation heal, it was pretty good (y)

    I mean, it kinda...invalidates a lot of those 30000+ points from buying that upgrade...and 30000 points is a LOT. I mean it, a lot. It is not something you earn overnight, for it could require weeks of grinding, and being xpro by having an alt on the server 24/7. While I see where you are coming from, and could honestly agree with such a nerf, not all traitors buy body armor, and that puts them at a risk. If the body armor becomes a default purchased item for Traitors, which would mean a counterbalance of -1 starting credit, like the detective, then yeah, please do nerf the DS. But for now, no thank you. -1.

I never said anything whatsoever about making Body Armor a default buy for traitors, I just want the Death Station nerfed because it's disgusting to see the same person get to 3 HP four separate times and heal to full by standing in the T room for 8 seconds. It's just an insanely overpowered upgrade. It's why the traitors cant just BUY health stations themselves.

    tf? you can't just leave an item op because "it was hard to get" In a PvE game that would make sense, but ya know this isn't a PvE game..
    I'm pretty the "grind2win" aspect is what makes people avoid servers such as moat where if you grind enough inventory credits, you can get extremely overpowered weapons

    I am aware of that tactic, but leaving a traitor at 65 health means they are extremely vulnerable to most guns. Without body armor, you only need to land 2-3 chest shots with almost any gun to kill them. That is why I'd want body armor to become default purchase for the nerf, because while their effective health wont be 100, it wont put them at an automatic death sentence just because their discount health station is actually discount.

    P.S with that in mind, it'd be also a nice little nerf if you couldnt place them in traitor only areas or unreachables.

  7. Same principle, however with those degenerates you can just buy more points. Here it's definitely long and arduous to earn that many, but an upgrade that strong is still way too far from balanced, despite the high cost.

    It is, because having 135 effective health can be devastating and lead to some 300 leonidas-style clutches that traitors should never be able to pull off. But, there are also the people who dont buy body armor, and that nerf leaves them very frail, as suddenly, a major damage threshold is just gone... what im saying is, body armor has to become automatic purchase for the DS nerf to be reasonable and balanced. 80-85 effective health is perfectly fine to leave a traitor at, since it lets him have room to breathe but not turn into a mini-tiger 1 tank. Infact, reflecting back on my 1st comment, saying -1 is not the correct move. Being neutral fits me more. I dont want to negatively impact this suggestion, because it's needed, but I want a certain prerequisite that is the body armor change to auto-unlock item for traitors, like detectives, to happen first to make it balanced.

    This is highly controversial but also something Opal was working on before he stepped down. We had a version of the death station on the test server where it was a single use, full heal.

    Anyone that says death station is not op is delusional, but it's also become a staple of the gameplay on sgm and I don't think it's something that'll change anytime soon. If you can't beat them, join them and buy the upgrade.

  11. I genuinely haven't seen a single person that's ever played this game, been traitor, and NOT bought bodyarmor. Having 135 effective HP isnt that overpowered, but having 400-500 effective HP is. That's the purpose of the nerf.

    I'd be down for a nerf to the death station in terms of max amount of health one death station could heal. I'd rather not limit it so that you can only heal to a max of X(/65) using death stations though. If i'm 40 health currently I am going to consider purchasing a death station but with a soft limit of 65 as suggested in the op I wouldn't see too much use in healing for 25 health.

    I wonder if there could be a mechanic with a timed automatic detonation (maybe like 30/40 seconds) built in to the perk. Realistically it would prevent re-use and wouldn't be all that likely to cause harm to actual gameplay if indicated similar to that of a c4.

    Yup. I like this idea much better than the Death Station heal cap one. It does what I want the DS to do, but better, since we dont have to be auto-giving armor to people, and the issue of having deathstations on easily defendable areas, high grounds, and role-only areas that invalidate bodyshots(or just chasing them in general) is also solved as now when they place the DS, they only have a limited amount of time in which they can actually get away with doing it before their version of a Team Fortress 2 Dispenser is now gone for the rest of the round. Please do nerf the DS in this way. +1.

  16. I also like this proposed nerf. Solves the problem of people just camping the T room, peeking out of doors and doing 5 or 6 shots before just holding E on it and doing the same thing for 6 minutes straight. Also makes it so the upgrade isnt as disgustingly overpowered but is also still rewarding for it's high cost.

    Exactly. It limits how much effective health you can get because of how a DS works. With a 30 second lifespan, you can heal back up to full HP ONCE. That means that the overall effective health a traitor WITH body armor per round will be around 230-240, which isnt that much, considering the 4:1 outnumbering of the Traitors. This also means maximum effective health of a Traitor WITHOUT body armor is around 160-170. I hope this is the nerf that is accepted.

    or at least make it so that the t's have slow ass mouse sensitivity 1 metre within so they can't be super defensive when using it
