Why is there no rule that you have to be able to name the person that kosed. Because "You have been kosed" and then the reported person not being able to tell by whom happens way too often...
If this was a rule, you'd be expecting me to always be looking at the top left of my screen to be seeing and remembering exactly who yells out a voicechat KOS
That's because not everyone is gonna be reading the names in VC while they talk. People say KOSes in voice chat, someone hears them, doesn't see a name since 4 people or something were talking, then kills the person. "You have been kosed" Is really the only thing you can say because there was still a KOS, but you didn't see who said it. What are people supposed to do? Not follow KOSes? I mean unless that person is that mad about it, the only way they could really be proven wrong is if one of them has a recording of it, so it's word vs word, and it's better to just not slay anyone JUST in-case someone did kos.
This would be pretty difficult to implement and tbh I have the brain of a common goldfish. There is no way I'll be able to remember who called a kos, I just mark em as kill. Chat logs are Pretty Easy to Check and Since I record my Gameplay it's not too difficult to work out if a kos was called in most instances.
I usually just mark whoever calls as sus until KOSed person is killed, then unmark/mark as KOS based on outcome
Im 50/50 on this suggestion. Once you start to know the community, and mainly who is on the server at the time, youll start to be able to tell who called it by their voice. Alot of players here have a very distinct accent, pitch, and dialogue. What I mean by dialogue: I fall victim to this quite alot actually. I say "bro" and "dude" a lot. Very many players have caught onto this and bc my koses are usually "Yo wtf kos elvis bro that dude just shot me bro", even without seeing my name pop up players are able to know who i am. Also in my experience, anytime someone is kosed, and the kos is followed, practically the whole server turns into a new york style detective trying to figure out who called it. Listen to what those players say and itll usually give you your answer. However, do not rely on this because players can and will be wrong at times.
Yeah but it's annoying as hell, cause you can just mass rdm while staff isn't online and claim they have been kosed
That's usually when the staff will notice a pattern and begin to record the entirety of the next couple rounds to prevent it. Anyway this is such a rare scenario that it really isn't a problem. If someone really is mass rdming, they'll eventually be karma banned.
What are we, babies? We don't need no help to find the traitor . In all seriousness, I think this would make the game a little too easy. It's not like false KOSes are called by traitors all the time, but with this it would make this tactic almost impossible. :L
