I'ma be serious for like 150 words. It's a staff team and you can ask for help. It'd have been better to ask another staff member to hop on with you for you to test the command and get a grasp on it. Random testing on players is.. not cool, for obvious reasons. Bringing an afk on an otherwise empty server ain't a big deal. My main issue is/was your attitude with Falcor. You came off as condescending and rude. And by your own admission, you had let your own/others' opinions and experiences affect how you treated Falcor, which is not acceptable for staff at any point. Meant to be unbiased and all. Can't be a good boy all the time, but this one is pretty shitty: click me if you have big peepee
Spoiler: to not be warned for derail Spoiler: Appeal #1 Ban from helixspiral for toxicity first, no evidence to show said toxicity and helix also stated it should be voided Spoiler: appeal 2 Ban for toxicity 2nd from lion because evidence was found to be inconclusive for said ban
I do agree with you Paci on how admins should treat abuse, that I can only agree on. Its just this abuse I dont really see as the big abuse that should get someone demoted, as it didnt affect any active playing players in a negative way. And I do agree that the amount of testing of commands seemed a bit much and Papa Should have done differently. But it had no matter in the end. The biggest issue was how he handled Falcor. And as you implied yourself, he just gotta wait a bit and reapply to get staff again. So why not just make it a temporary suspension instead of a complete demotion?
Temporary suspensions are not very good punishments. The problem is that they often times breed three effects: 1) The person serves it shamelessly and comes back having learned nothing, for this person it was just a vacation. 2) They breakdown from the communities pressure (there will always be a group of people that want demotion) and resign. 3) They come back to the staff team, but with anger and resentment towards the establishment. Demotion on the other hand allows for the terms to be placed on the person who is being demoted. That person can work towards betterment over a longer period of time. Also, abuse of power and not being respectful are way more severe than simply being incompetent. Incompetence is usually the cause for temporary suspension.
idk to me it seems like @Falcor hit papacharlie with a good ole WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and bodied him bc he didnt know what to do when his shield was getting pressured like that good shit falcor sick kill
wait so.. he used his powers.. on an afk in an empty server.. and got demoted for it? I have seen people get like 8 valid reports on them for using their powers wrong or doing something wrong and only get suspended for like a week. Demotion was a bit too far. It didn't cause any issues for anyone, the dude was afk, so i mean who cares? Just give him a warning to not do that and move on.
my ass was dumber than playing tiddlywinks with your friends sister in the woods for inadvertently creating the first example of the silly and proven ineffective temporary suspensions a few years back. other than that, i don’t really have all context to construct an opinion nor care to in this case. have a wonderful day y’all
That part was bad enough, but I would say the thing that more likely got Papa demoted is the way he treated Falcor. He was very condescending in his posts regarding her report, in a way that was very unacceptable for staff to behave in general, let alone on a report against them.
Yeah but you're still staff, but Charlie isn't. And charlie didn't get suspended; he outright got demoted.
