    Ayo,

    So this has always been the case to my knowledge, that you can't kill a detective for calling a KOS on you, but if they damage/attempt to hurt/kill you, you're allowed to hurt/kill them.

    In this particular situation, I was pushed out a window by a detective, causing me damage, so I crowbarred him, and then the staff online slayed me for it.

    So whatup with that

    They have to be actively damaging you. If they stop damaging you and you just go after them yourself its RDM.

    Probably had something to do with the fact that you waited on hitting me up with your crowbar. Self defense requires that the detective do a considerable amount of damage and be actively trying to kill you.

    he has to be ACTIVELY killing you. if its just one instance of damage and then he isnt still shooting you/hitting you/damaging you then you cant kill him for it

    If he is not actively damaging you, then you can not attack him. This means if he stops attacking you for 1-2 seconds, or you break line of sight with him, then self defense no longer applies.

    You can only damage the detective back while in active combat with them. Since there was likely a delay between you being damaged and causing damage back, you wouldn't be considered to be in a self-defence situation.

    i personally disagree with this somewhat, but can't think of a better way to handle it, without easy loopholing to kill det

    This is the rule in question^

    In order to kill a detective, the player has to be actively attempting you kill you, you can not kill a detective because they have dealt damage to you in the past. The reason that this is, is due to detectives being 'proven' innocents. It really wouldn't make sense for you to kill someone who is 100% on your team, just because he dealt damage to you in the past.

    The same rule applies for Traitor on Traitor damage
