This is probably gonna seem dumb, but remember to change your passwords every so often. I'm about to go through everything I have and change them. Cause someone just hacked my PSN account while I was sleeping yesterday and I just found out. Luckily it was easy to get back, but I had years of games and my bank info just sitting there. So I don't care how dumb this post may seem. CHANGE YOUR FUCKING PASSWORDS and for the love of god don't use 12345 or abc123
How do people get that info though? The people who share their password are probably the dumbasses who use 12345 and whatnot
Recently my spotify account was hacked by some spanish guy somehow and he had my entire password and it was pretty complex too. No idea how that happened.
Any time something gets hacked you'll wanna change your email pass aswell. I caught someone in the middle of hacking via my email, cause I had alerts on and I would get an alert for : your pass has changed and when I went to check not even a minute later it was deleted.
keyloggers from the porn sites you visit, canceled! I've had the same passwords for 15 years, never changed em
The most popular rankings are generated based on passwords found in data breaches. Others are like you said, people sharing their password at request.
Yeah like the videos you see of people interviewing random people on the street, bringing up the topic of password security, and then asking them what their password is. After they tell it, the interviewer says, "You just told me your password", and the look on their faces is hilarious.
I had my Spotify and PSN account (I never ever use) hacked once and so now I just random generate every password and save them on a secure password saver I pay for. It's important to not use same passwords for every account, because I've seen hackers get into other accounts cause some dude didn't change up his passwords and/or usernames between all of their different accounts.
Yeah that's my problem tbh. I cycle through a certain 4. But I've been using for over 10 years so it's time to make a new 4 lol
My passwords are all different on every platform thankfully, but that doesn't stop people from hacking my PC. This hasn't happened in over 3 years, but about 3 years ago, I wasn't keeping my PC up to date, obviously I was a dumbass for doing so, but I went AFK for like 5 mins, when I came back, steam was opened, and my mouse was moving on it's own. The person tried buying steam money, thankfully my info wasn't saved onto steam otherwise I would have been fucked. tl;dr we are not really safe from hacking in this day and age, and changing current passwords won't help, especially with hackers and keyloggers, changing passwords can actually make you MORE vulnerable in certain cases. (PC only, xbox and ps4 password changes shouldn't be much of a problem).
I have a master password on pretty much everything but I haven't had any problems, just dont say shit to people on what your account info is and you should be fine.
