Why not tell opal and highwon to try and figure out the crash reports with gmod and facepunch? instead of bathing in money and drinking tears from innocents who get killed by me?
Ha u peasant WHat are yOU EEven Going to do with knOWing which Facepunch member WE'RE TAlking withh.. hahahamanicallaughter zsnappinyabitchaas
Tbh why does it matter? It's a conversation between Opalium and Facepunch staff, that's all we really need to know. If something pops up we will keep y'all informed. The staff member at Facepunch that is in discussion with Opalium is not really needed to be public knowledge.
like y'all doing so much work to fix the server yep, y'all will inform us. you mean opalium will inform us
As rude as it is I have to agree with Bee here, I've never appreciated lower level staff speaking for upper level staff. But the second part is still accurate, we don't need to know. Idk how me asking for a thread turned into this shit storm.
I just want an actual 100% we are working on this you know. That's my thing, I really don't care other wise.
Don't worry, Zyp. I can promise you that it is something that Opalium is 100% looking into finding a solution and working on it with or without facepunch's help. Solutions to problems can't be found within a day.
Lmao one thing I have noticed is that sometimes when sending a report or response the exact moment a server changes map there's a crash.. or it could be just coincidence.. just a lil observation I may regret for making public xD
For y'all uncertain if this is a priority / being worked on at all: If Highwon, Opalium, and other staff/developers care about the community, they will naturally strive to prevent crashes because it's annoying and sucks - for the community. Therefore, if we assume staff care (spoiler, they do), they will try to find a solution and work it out. If our capitalist overlord Highwon wants money, he needs people playing on the servers, who purchase ranks for improved quality of life (better loadout, neater skins). If the servers are crashing constantly, people will play less on the servers and have less use of (and desire of) those ranks - we've observed this over the last few months. So, if Highwon wants money, he wants non-crashing servers, 'cause that is the most profitable. Therefore, even assuming our overlord to be a greedy fellow who doesn't actually care about the community or the servers, it is in his best interest to have the servers working. Capitalism, ho! Spoiler: pic related In conclusion: It's being worked on and is a high priority issue that has had many hours of effort go into it already - be it observing crashes or investigating other factors (e.g. the infrastructure) - and it will continue to be worked on until it's resolved. Whether the motivation is selfish or altruistic in nature (btw it's the latter), it is in the best interest of higher-ups to fix it, so they will This thread (OP) is in itself just a long version of "we're working on it". Knowing small, fringe details about the process and progress is not likely to help anyone fix the issue. Knowing major things (like what has been ruled out) may be helpful for my following suggestion, but small stuff is not helpful. If you notice something happen just before a crash/right as a server crashes, alert Opalium or the online staff to it. That's the best way you can help. An inquisition solves nothing in this case
Hey again people. Following a recent breakthrough, we're going to get into some more "intense" testing on the live servers. The servers we chose for this are EU and EU2 (because EU best ). This means that in the upcoming days, you may notice some strange things happening in the EU servers. Content changing, rounds cutting short, maybe even some unexpected map changes or slightly increased lag. You'll also probably notice me/Highwon being there more often. This is all temporary, of course. I will try my best to ensure minimal interruption to the game, but you should be prepared for some of the above. Hopefully this shouldn't take more than a few days. Facepunch studios are the developers of Garry's Mod (and some other games like Rust). It's the game studio Garry founded.
