National guard is wing of army (Army National Guard) , but are separate things. Which one did you enlist in

 

Thank you! It's fine the joke is about an Air Force cadet; someone in ROTC. So it would be funny for most of us enlisted lol.

I've been in for 9 years and I've been good at promoting for my career.

Don't forget about the Reserves. Also, the Air National Guard is a thing too. I wouldn't call them wings of each Active Service. They're a component of each service.

I used to be stationed in Fort Polk a couple years back when my father was there, may I ask how long ago that rotation of yours happened?

 

it was summer of 2017. We had 2 people die during our rotation.

 

My thoughts go out to them and I was curious to see if I actually knew who you were but if you were just recently there then I doubt that was the case. It is always good to see more military people. I know you probably hear it enough ( I know @MangoTango has ) but thank you guys for what you do.

I dont have the bragging rights u guys do; to the frustration of the Marine recruiter (guess he was turned onto me by my *British* camo jacket) when i told him this, I have other responsibilities. If the DOD ever adds organically grown small grains and beef to the menu, hopefully you wont live in too much fear I may have had a part in producing it

So I brag about my family instead: Grandpa was Air Force in Alaska. uncle is career Air Force, went to Germany. Have a bro-in-law in Air Guard, recently finished stint in Japan. Sis in Army Guard, brother ex Army Guard.
