Someone needs a bit more practice before being a mod, I think.

They have all the logs and whatever, and I have screenshots of the conversation, but hopefully that shit won't be needed.

Player A false KoS's me. I'm in a big group of people, so I assume they'll shoot me. I kill player A. Player B shoots me, kills me. Player A isn't slain.

    Why?

Because apparently, the KoS didnt "lead to my death". When he KoSd me, I had two options - kill him, or get killed by everyone around me. At that point, either choice would lead to my death, hence the rule - No false KOS.

This player misclicked a keybind, and caused an RDM chain that ended the round in less than 20 seconds. And... nothing? No slay? It's utterly ridiculous. If this new "didnt lead to his death" is a new rule here, it's a load of shit.

    Hello,
I have gone through my recording and grabbed the necessary evidence.

I have included several articles relevant to this case.
Please let me explain the situation again:

I went into the report and noticed that it was for a false KOS. I re-examined the case, as you had asked.
I went to the player who killed you and asked them why they did it as you believe it was because of the False KOS.
However player stated that they killed you because they saw you killing BallisticZero and reacted immediately which can be seen in damage logs.
Since they killed you because you started shooting a player and not because of the KOS I could not have slain Ballistic for false KOS as it did not lead to your death.
This is why I marked the report finished as there could be no slay made.

The alternatives would to called his KOS as false and kill him because of it, however, doing this can lead to your own death.
The safest option would have been to call high sus on him and avoid the situation.
If the player had killed you for the FALSE Kos then I could have slain ballistic. However, this did not happen.

If necessary I can add more to this later but for the time being, I must go. I am retagging my admin @aco taco to put his input farther.

This is the rules text you posted in your spoiler. It literally says, right there, False KOS is punishable. Nowhere do I see this "rule" that's been bandied about about the KOS not directly leading to my death, therefore it's not punishable. "I hit the wrong key" is not a valid reason for KOS, therefore it's a false KOS, and should be punished.

I really don't see why it would be a rule for a KOS to "directly lead" to someone's death to have to be punishable, as it's needlessly complicated. I see this KOS as leading directly to me being killed, as I'd never have shot the guy if he hadn't KOSd me in the first place.

    Hello,
I would like to mention that I talked to @luna♥ in a chat to see her thoughts during the process of handling your report. She advised me that if the KOS wasn't directly involved in your death it was not slayable.
I will leave this to my admin @aco taco to finish this up.
I am sorry for this misunderstanding,

    Hello,

Lion is correct in this situation. We do not punish players simply for a false kos; we punish them if that false kos leads to the rdm of another player. Since the player that killed you didn’t kill you for the kos that was placed, no slay was issued. The reason we don’t slay for just a false kos is because we only issue slays for rdm. If no player was harmed because of the kos, then no rdm took place.

If you have any further questions, feel free to message me on the forums.
