Hey I was recently playing on EUnilla when some guy randomly placed a KOS on me while spamming his keybinds. (With the intention to KOS a guy who was shooting behind him)

Was wondering if this falls under crossfire or not because AFAIK there's no rule saying that crossfire applies to calling KOSes and this would've been a slay for false KOS, but I got told by @Dwardu that @Han Solo had told him that crossfire does apply to KOSes, which is completely new to me.

Crossfire KOS is when the bind hits another player while killing another player. Yes it's a thing and deemed as crossfire. Staff will have to verify though that the callout happened indeed while battling a player, else RDM.

Yes, it is a rule that if I am chasing down another player and spamming Player A is a traitor! Player A is a traitor! Player A is a traitor! (then player b walks in front of me) Player B is a traitor! Player A is a traitor! As you can see I crossfired another player while calling out the radio bind of KOS. Usually it is easy to spot in logs as you will see exactly what I said. The kos will happen as you are kosing a player and out of no where another player is added.

So the rule follows what crossfire is because it is technically the same thing. Just like you shoot another player on accident cause you are already shooting the traitor and the one guy gets in a way or something.

Overall: it is the same thing as crossfire just its with radio commands/binds.
Here is the rule about crossfire.

    I hope this helps!

    Hey @MiGGo,

From time to time what can happen is you're in a gunfight and someone walks into your crosshair so you accidently kos him in "crossfire."

In this case the player didn't want to kill you but when he turned out of panic as he was shot from his back, his game decided to KOS you as you were in his line of sight a few seconds ago, here are the damagelogs:

As you can see he called the KOS before looking at him 2-3 seconds after he was getting shot and it decided to tag you first (probably because you were in his line of sight originally) he immediately kos'ed the right person afterwards.

In my honest opinion it's a bit stupid because a crossfire KOS is different from regular crossfire in the sense that a KOS has a permanent effect on the person it's used on, but without actually punishing the player who did it in any ways.

Normal crossfire actually causes a bit of karma loss when it happens, but since KOSes cannot be called off, a ''crossfire KOSd'' person has basically their whole round thrown away because one person was unable to be careful with their ''fuck this guy in particular''-button.

Also to add, if in my scenario, he had shot instead of KOSd, then it would not have been crossfire, as I was nowhere near the person he was initially even trying to kill/KOS, so why is crossfire KOS so much different then?

Your scenario is rather tricky I'll be completely honest, my judgment is coming from the fact that the initial KOS which was a false one on you was not intentional and the damagelogs/chat show that he did KOS the right person in the same second, from what I can try understand in this case is his game must have kos'ed you because he was looking at you a few seconds (2 to 3) before your t-buddy started shooting at him so I counted it as a crossfire KOS due to the special circumstances.

This is less about that particular event and more about crossfire KOS in general. I always assumed it was just a joke and not actually a thing.
