I recently saw this mentioned in a different thread by @Wompzilla in another suggestions thread for a remote controlled car that explodes. I expanded on this and thought what if there was an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) in TTT. This would be a detective weapon that would disable the traitors' Trip Mines, C4, Radar and Death stations for a brief amount of time(10 seconds). The EMP would also act like a DNA Scanner in the sense it has multiple uses and takes time to charge up (Time taken to charge could be decreased with upgrades). The disabled traitor items would then be enabled again after the time runs out. I do not know if this would be possible to implement or not but in my opinion is an interesting idea.
It would need a radius of effect to keep it from being too OP, like C4 What would Death Stations do while they're affected by the EMP? Disabling Radar is kind of pointless as, even fully upgtaded, it takes 10 seconds to recharge +/-1
Yes, I agree a radius would be good to stop it from being too op. By disabling the radar I mean removing all the green dots from the screen. For the death station it would just not explode if you press E on it.
Yes, but death stations explode when you destroy them and defusing a C4 is risky unless you know the right wire or have a defuser. Also the death stations will heal everyone whilst under the effect of the EMP
But people might end up thinking it's a health station and when it goes back to normal they end up exploding everyone.
Good observation maybe there could be an indication on screen or in chat saying "EMP Activated" and "EMP Deactivated" or maybe there would be a change in texture.
It's an idea, but the fact is implementing this in the code would be a large undertaking, and so far no huge uses have been outlined, the best thing I could thing of would be to disable c4s that are unreachable.
As regards uses, I can think of a few scenarios. #1 When you find a C4 but you do not have time to escape. #2 To help with C4 spam. #3 Everyone being able to heal from a death station and being able to destroy it without exploding #4 If you hear a trip mine being placed but do not know where it is, you could use the EMP to disable it so that you can walk around to find it without the fear of turning a corner and activating it. I understand that this would be a huge task to perform and would take a lot of commitment but it would be interesting to see and to help with C4 spam as @MythMe mentioned.
It would have to cost like 2 credits or something like an upgrade, because doing all those things would be too OP for 1 credit.
