KOS on Detective question/clarification

Server: Serious TTT West 1

Time of Occurrence: Approx. 2:30 PM PST

Reason For Report: I've been playing on this server a lot lately, almost 50 hrs in the past couple weeks, and have never had a problem with this until my last game with the mod Killamarshall. Throughout tonight I've been using the traitor radio command on dets, with mods and even admins on, and have never been slain or kos'd for it seeing as it is pretty much a joke because it is literally impossible for a detective to be a traitor. No other mod or admin has even brought it up in chat or through pms until now with Killamarshall. I used the traitor command on a detective and was immediately kos'd by the mod KIllamarshal even though I was innocent and obviously not really trying to get the detective killed. I was also slain the next round and Killamarshall didn't slay himself for the obvious false kos. I felt like this was an abuse of his power and him trying to just cover his self, due to the fact that no other mod throughout the day has said anything and because the other mod in the lobby, Tail, had nothing to say about it either.

And in response, i have been told by highwon and admins that KOSing a detective is counted as false kos/rdm. i didnt slay myself because you called a false kos.

Killamarshall had every right to kill you for calling a false KOS. We have been trying to prevent people from KOSing detectives because it is spam and really doesn't accomplish anything. Although I don't agree that he both killed you and then slayed you. One or the other would have sufficed just fine. I'll have a quick chat with him about that.

Lesson: Calling a KOS on a detective is considered a false KOS and puts you at liberty to get killed by the players on the server or slain by a staff member.

Appreciate you clarifying but the issue with this being enforced by only one of the 5ish mods I've played with still stands.

 

thats mod discretion and you might have played with new mods, who werent entirely aware of this.

 

If it had caused RDM then one of the "5ish" mods probably would have done something about it. Since it wasn't causing RDM, they may have decided to ignore it. Killamarshall was within right to kill you for the false KoS and then slay you for the false KoS.

 

I also enforce this rule. If you KOS a detective (looking at you, Snak. C'mon at least check the playerlist before you try to KOS some random guy to prove yourself) I will hunt you and kill you.

 

As long as everyone understands that calling a KOS in a detective is the sane as calling a KOS on a proven innocent. I usually kill people who KOS the detective, then tell them that if they do it again, it will result in a slay.

 

I think its such a silly rule, like I would be surprised that a person who actually kills a called out detective has the brain capacity to even breathe. i suppose it could happen though

 

Almost everyone is getting mad at me for killing people who throw discombobs on flat maps,and people who call KOS on Detective

 

Just tell them to read the MOTD.

 

Whenever I see the "_____ is a traitor!", I immediately make a mental note of their name. I usually don't bother checking the player list to see if they are a detective or not. This can cause some confusion and honestly could get a detective killed if people aren't paying attention.
