Of all people, im not really one to complain about the mechanics of how the server works (wink wink), but the double barrel is the bane of my patience with this server at the moment. Even though a few maps involve long distance combat, most of the shooting occurs in close quarters anyway, and I can fairly say that the double barrel accounts for 60 or 70% of my deaths. I can be gunning a guy down, and he just whips around and blasts me with no effort. I think the least that should be done is that the double barrel be returned to single round firing like it was after its original nerfing. People complained about it for a couple days, but theres a lot of people on here, myself including, that are livid when it comes to being on the other end of it. People say that the twin firing is a disadvantage, but the quick reload of the gun most of the time compensates for it. If you were to take the shotgun or the Mossberg and give it a 2round shot you would see pretty similar results. If anything I just want to convey that I don't feel there was a necessity to have messed with the DB after its original nerf, as it was a fair gun, more powerful than a regular shotgun but not so much as to be able to destroy people.
While it may be initally powerful, once your shot is empty, you have to reload in which case the person you shot (if not dead) will probably kill you. the player's around them will also be involved. My only advice, pray for a shitbox or a terrible shot In short, the double barrel is good for taking out a key person or person's if lucky, but I still much prefere AK just because a quick headshot is almost instadeath anyways.
The db in single fire is exactly the same, you just click twice. There's no delay between the two shots. The two shots is neither better nor worse, only different. This is because it took skill out of the equation. A good db user before would always take out two per reload while less skilled people would take two shots for one person. I agree it needs some work but I don't think returning it to its original would help.

Double barrel is love. Double barrel is life. When you really think about it, if you got hit by a double barrel at close range, you wouldn't be getting up either.
Why is this argument almost always brought up? Get shot by the vanilla shotgun at short range you won't get up. Deagle at short range? You probs dead. Rifle to the chest at short range? You should die. But why don't they happen? Because it's a game, so stop with the 'realism' argument unless you want to make several more weapons one shot at close range. Edit: Because many people love how easy it is to demolish with. I say make it a T weapon or remove it, but usually after this suggestion is stated everyone stops responding to the discussion.
I'm quite honestly done with playing on the regular STTT servers simply because of the double barrel. Jihads are practically useless if you are attempting to jihad a group that has, at least, one player with a double barrel. If a player with a double barrel is a traitor, they will just go on a rampage and either the round will be over in a blink of an eye or half the server is dead. The double barrel needs to be a two shot weapon again and needs to do maybe a little bit more damage than the regular shotgun does so that one shot to the head or two well place shots to the torso kills the player. That way, the gun can stay in the game and it will still be a useful weapon.
My problem is if i see a player with a DB I can't reliably killed them without 1 shotting them because i know a fast reaction time is the death of me. This makes fighting those with double barrel very troublesome. What people don't realize is this is NOT overpowered. Over half the donators use that gun and both sides still win a fairly even amount of time. The issue is having a mechanic in the game that requires little skill and is very hard to counter is toxic game play because skill should be a deciding factor in duels not just can i fire my DB with mediocre accuracy and average reflexes.
ive seen countless jihads get shut down mainly from the double barrel, and im glad that its a common theme with the fact that anyone who comes face to face with one faces annihilation as an inno and the risk for immediate death as a traitor. after the original patch there was a short delay between the shots that allowed whoever that was on the other end of it to make a move instead of it being one and done. The idea of simply dodging the DB is much easier said than done. Its spread and ease of use makes it really hard to miss with.
@DeathShot when the gun was two shots. You can get 2 kills without reloading easily. It was a bigger problem.
welp highwon announced that the DB will be removed from loadouts when the new system comes out so im happy
Just to clarify since people started asking me after seeing DeathShot's post. My current plans with Double Barrel is to make it a limited availability weapon. These weapons wont be available through loadouts, pointshop or anywhere on the map. But these plans are still in the works and it could be weeks before they're even implemented so in the meantime you can enjoy the Double Barrel the way it is.

The DB is the gun for people who can't use a colt....... I honestly have still yet to see a valid argument about the DB after its last nerf. The only thing its good for is a secondary, unless there is only a few people left. I can walk right up and colt you in the face just as easily as I can walk right up and DB you.
I'm actually starting to use the hk45 as a primary with the db as my secondary. I mostly use the 45, but the db is a last resort gun/prop launcher. I think it's more balanced that way because I use it as a secondary.
